You know how certain set ups just don’t work for some people? I can safely say the lonely career woman adopts a full grown male dancer pet construct in the upcoming You’re My Pet movie just doesn’t work for me. Doesn’t matter if it’s Jang Geun Seok this time instead of MatsuJun, or whether I think Kim Ha Neul can … Continue reading →
Vic Zhou is currently in Beijing filming the period movie Saving General Yang, while his just completed remake of the classic Taiwanese movie Destiny’s Pair is starting its promotions by releasing official stills and holding a media day for the stars to meet the press. Starring Zai Zai and Ella, this movie will allow us to decide which F4 guy … Continue reading →
Do you want an even larger scale version of Ouran High School Host Club, a story that has already evolved from manga to anime and now to live-action drama. I want! And my wants appear to be immediately fulfilled, because the cast of Ouran attended a fan meeting in Tokyo last week and announced that they will be starring in … Continue reading →
The Beijing opera martial arts movie My Kingdom got its premiere date pushed back to September, but conversely it will be getting an international release at the same time as its domestic premiere. The production released a boatload of official stills recently that show the level of detail that went into the costumes and the set pieces for this movie. Han … Continue reading →
After holding a dedication ceremony at the beginning of August in Kaifeng (the capital of China during the Song dynasty), the production of Saving General Yang finally got a non-gimpy leading man (Ekin Cheng stepping in for the injured Louis Koo) and can continue on its merry way to bring Koala her man-candy-epic movie. The production held a press conference … Continue reading →
Since news broke a few weeks ago that Louis Koo, who was to play the eldest Yang brother in the upcoming Saving General Yang (or as I call it – “that hot men go to war movie”), took a tumble down the stairs at home tearing his achilles and injuring his right wrist, I’ve been reluctant to believe producer Bakmin … Continue reading →
A filming commencement ceremony was held last week in Kaifeng (the old capital of the Song Dynasty) for the upcoming blockbuster martial arts historical movie Saving General Yang (å¿ çƒˆæ¥Šå®¶å°‡). Present for the media event was the actors playing five of the seven Yang brothers: Yu Buo (Second Brother), Vic Zhou (Third Brother), Raymond Lam (Fifth Brother), Wu Zun (Sixth Brother), … Continue reading →
This movie looks stunning. I am enthralled by how moody and evocative the first official stills look from the upcoming movie Always with So Ji Sub and Han Hyo Joo. He plays a boxer, she plays a blind artist, clearly they fall for each other. Some couplings just visually look right together, and I’ve thought so about this pairing since … Continue reading →
I can’t believe I’m actually excited about this, but for some reason I think it would be a fitting ending for the couple and might wash away some of the residual bitterness that Season 2 left in my mouth. NTV has announced that it’s about to commence filming on Hotaru no Hikari, the Movie. After a brilliant drama adaptation of … Continue reading →
Lee Yeon Hee is so beautiful that it’s a shame she really is such a limited actress. She gets to act with a bevy of top K-stars, and each time I just cringe when she starts to emote. My favorite Lee Yeon Hee performance is actually her bit part in Resurrection. Sigh. She’s just been cast as the female lead … Continue reading →
The hottest C-actress of 2011 must surely be Yang Mi, who has about a bajillion dramas and movies out this year alone, most famously the time-traveling Gong (Jade Palace Lock Heart) which rocketed her to super stardom. She’s guest-starring in the upcoming remake of Destiny’s Pair with Vic Zhou and Ella, playing the ex-wife of Zai Zai’s character and the … Continue reading →
What a star-studded cast for a movie. LOVE is Director Doze Niu‘s followup film to his blockbuster and critically-acclaimed Monga, and will be reuniting his two leads from Monga, Ethan Ruan and Mark Chao, plus adding Eddie Peng to the male cast. The boys attended a media event to announce the start of filming, and what’s funny is that you … Continue reading →
We can’t have the Summer movie season in Korea without a requisite horror movie to scare the ladies into whimpering on their boyfriends’ shoulders. Ghastly (Korea title is Parasite), starring No Min Woo, Han Eun Jung, and T-ara‘s Hyomin, held a press conference today and the movie is coming out in early August. I confess to being a horror movie … Continue reading →
