How should I describe Arang and the Magistrate after one episode? Give it a better name? It can be called Run, Arang, Run! with how much Arang has been running in one episode alone. Or maybe The Ghost and I? Or how about I Love You Drama, Marry Me? If there was such a thing as love at first sight … Continue reading →
Date, date, date! I love how Miss Rose continues to take the most squeeworthy City Hall OTP elements and spinning their own twist on it. Those who have seen CH know that two scenes in MR episode 3 were quite iconic comedic CH scenes. The first was the scene where Cheng Kuan voluntarily pretends to be Si Yi’s boyfriend in … Continue reading →
You know, I’m going to have trouble convincing people that I really like Lee Min Ho, given that it’s pretty much three-for-three in me striking out with his dramas. I finally watched Faith yesterday, both episodes at once, and the verdict is a solid “dislike”. It would veer into hate but for the fact that I like Min Ho’s character, … Continue reading →
My babies are back together again! I must’ve been good indeed to be rewarded by High Cut magazine sending Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy to New Zealand for an outdoorsy photoshoot. Kim Soo Hyun is riding high in his acting career after winning a Baeksang Best Actor award for The Moon that Embraces the Sun and his Summer ensemble caper … Continue reading →
I almost wanted to rage/quit Rich Man, Poor Woman this week. That is how much episode 6 pissed me off royally. But then I calmed myself back down and took out my frustrations on the screenwriter rather than the drama itself which I still love. Episode 6 felt like a super long filler episode with enough story for 10 minutes … Continue reading →
Buh? Okay, this is one pairing I’ve never considered in a million billion years. Not that I object, but somehow this has never crossed my mind when I do my fun dream pairings when I’m trying to go to sleep (as opposed to counting sheep). Park Shi Hoo is reportedly in talks and considering taking on the male lead of … Continue reading →
I love Miss Rose so much that even I’m flabbergasted how quickly this drama ratcheted up the awesome. The Taiwan audience appears to think so as well, since episode 3 easily broke 3 in ratings to hit 3.37. TTV clearly has a hit on its hands just as it had hoped for when it cloned the Office Girls formula with … Continue reading →
What the hell? Xie An Zhen still hasn’t made a decision between her cheating loser of an ex-husband and her cute rich boy toy of a new boyfriend? And we need an entire movie to deal with what should have been dealt with at the end of The Fierce Wife? Le sigh. Quite possibly the most talked about TW-drama in … Continue reading →
It’s looking more and more like my gut instinct about To the Beautiful You is right. Sulli and Min Ho are likely the closest live-action actors to their manga counterparts in Hana Kimi. She looks feminine but has the masculine swagger and attitude down right, and Min Ho is aloof without coming across as half asleep or robotic. Of course … Continue reading →
It’s Recess time at the Playground! Which of course means I’m on vacation, this time for two weeks (as opposed to a meager one week last August to Maui). Come sunshine or typhoon, clearly I’ll still be posting since I’m OCD like that, it just won’t be that often. Last time I took a long vacation, I inaugurated Recess posts … Continue reading →
Wow, watching the second teaser for the upcoming weekend K-drama Five Fingers left me speechless. I was all jet-lagged and then I watched this sucker and WHAM all my sleepiness got bitchslapped six-ways to Sunday. This drama looks fierce and shouty and intense with a capital I. Is it my cup of tea? Looks less and less like I’m even … Continue reading →
Now that is the look of an Angry Guy. So why did the drama Nice Guy choose that for its name, when clearly the titular male lead is likely to be pissed off and vengeful for a good chunk of its run. Perhaps writer Lee Kyung Hee wants to hammer home the irony of it, or show that a genuine … Continue reading →
I’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the cast of Love Actually has been actively promoting the drama in China, appearing on the popular variety show Happy Camp and doing media events such as a cooking demonstration. All very cute. The bad news is that leading man Joe Cheng has been absent from … Continue reading →
