I’m a little too seasoned to suffer a bout of tears and snot over the smallest sad plot development in a drama, but watching Yeo Jin Gu cry in the preview for episode 5 of The Moon that Embraces the Sun got me right there in the gut. He’s truly a phenomenal child actor, and the same is true for … Continue reading →
Premiering exactly one year after it’s predecessor drama Sunny Happiness, Happy Michelin Kitchen will finally hit the airwaves next week on January 23rd after finishing filming last year. HMK is the third and final drama in the Happy Trilogy, and continuing with tradition this one has boatload of cameos from stars of the first two dramas. This time the leads are Cheryl Yang … Continue reading →
Congrats to the cast of Office Girls, with episode 22 finally breaking 6 and hitting 6.50 in ratings! All good things must come to an end, and I’m totally going to be sad to see OGÂ end. The cast held a final fan meeting this weekend, which also had two special guests. It’s of course the SETTV traditional Sunday night idol … Continue reading →
Yeo Jin Gu may be wowing the noonas on The Moon that Embraces the Sun, but he has a few more years before he will hit Yoo Seung Ho territory – the elusive place where it’s impossible not to drool over him whilst feeling really guilty about it. Which is why I’m thrilled to see Yoo Seung Ho finally decide … Continue reading →
The first teaser for Dream High 2 was hilariously over-the-top in that wink wink way, knowing that it was being silly and wanting you to laugh at it. Some self-deprecating humor is always good with me. The second teaser is much more straight forward, introducing the main cast members and a snippet of the personality conflicts to come. I’ve only … Continue reading →
While I’m not a fan of Blue Lan, strangely I’ve watched most of his dramas over the years. There is something about him I find interesting, this rough aura that not a lot of Taiwanese leading men have. Most are exceedingly pretty, ala Mike He, Roy Qiu, Joe Cheng, Ethan Ruan types, so Blue is the outlier in being more … Continue reading →
After filming for three months, the upcoming modern C-drama Happiness of an Angel with Ming Dao and Liu Shi Shi just wrapped principal photography. Filmed on location in San Ya, the capital city of Hainan Province in the South China Seas, the drama is aiming for a decidedly romantic and picturesque vibe all over. The production released a second set … Continue reading →
Alice Ke currently sports a simple and slightly drab image for her down-to-earth character of Shen Xing Ren in the drama Office Girls. She’s about to show a completely different side to herself in the movie Bear It (ç†Šç†Šçˆ±ä¸Šä½ ) with Dylan Kuo (who I call Taiwan’s version of Hayami Mokomichi) that will finally be released next month. The director of … Continue reading →
Since the Super Junior Boys were just in Japan for the Athena DVD Release Concert, it must’ve been easy for Choi Siwon and Lee Donghae to jet to Taiwan afterwards for some sorely lacking Skip Beat promotional activities. Due to scheduling conflicts, the entire cast held just one whirlwind press conference back in December right before the drama premiered. More … Continue reading →
Finally! SETTVÂ has confirmed the start date for Love Forward with Amber Kuo and Tammy Chen as February 12th, 2012. Which means that Office Girls will end at 24 episodes (taking into account one episode will be preempted for Lunar New Year), making it as long as Fated to Love You and The Fierce Wife, all ratings bonanzas for the network. … Continue reading →
The impetus for actions in a sageuk is rarely personal, and this is especially true in The Moon Embraces the Sun. People are eliminated simply because they got in the way. It’s not like anyone objects to Yeon Woo being Hwon’s Crown Princess because she’s ugly, stupid, or his half-sister. It’s because she doesn’t represent the establishment, and the people … Continue reading →
Ahhhh, so handsome. Some lucky 22 year old girl in Korea is going to enjoying looking at this face for the rest of her life. Go Soo recently announced that he was not only engaged to his much younger non-celebrity girlfriend, they were in fact walking down the aisle shortly come February. While I’m theoretically sad he’s off the market … Continue reading →
Oh what some eyeliner can do to transform a person. Nicky Wu graces the cover and pages of Beijing Fashion magazine and the make up artist decided to whip out the extra chunky guyliner and liberally apply it to Nicky. The result is strangely alluring and very eye-catching especially considering his very drab and restrained appearance in Bu Bu Jing … Continue reading →
