Taiwan’s most prestigious awards show came and went, and thankfully the results caused no sputtering outrage and mud flinging the way the Golden Bells did last month. Last night’s Golden Horse Awards was a rather muted affair, with some viewers not terribly impressed with the star quality of the nominees and attendees compared to other years. The biggest nomination winner … Continue reading →
Ooooooh, pwetty! I love fabulous furniture, and when paired with gorgeous actors, that’s just icing on top of the cake. For the December issue of InStyle Korea magazine, six K-actors have collaborated with furniture designers to produce a design piece that reflects their personality and style. The pieces will be auctioned and all proceeds will go to their designated charity. In … Continue reading →
Four of Taiwan’s leading actors are getting together for an upcoming 2012 blockbuster period TW-movie. Jerry Yan and Joe Cheng will pair up with Ivy Chen and Michelle Chen for the rare star-studded lavish Hua Yang, a movie set in the waning days of the Ming Dynasty. Ivy and Michelle will play a pair of theatrical performing sisters, and Joe … Continue reading →
Thank god Ramna 1/2 isn’t one of those iconic mangas where legions of diehard fans will have a hernia and an aneurysm if it was butchered in any way, shape, or form. The first teasers for the upcoming Ranma 1/2 live-action SP have been released, and I pretty much dialed my expectations from a zero down to whatever it is … Continue reading →
This news will make some ArJoe fans rejoice. Much as I think Ariel Lin is never going to end up in real life with another actor (she’s never dated any of her co-stars or anyone in the entertainment industry since she debuted), she has such explosive and brilliant chemistry with ALL her male co-stars there are legions of Ariel fans … Continue reading →
I never knew I would ever desire a broccoli bouquet. Or a dollhouse. Or find a guy who dressed up in a dinosaur costume really hot. Office Girls really does mess with my mind, but all in a good way. I’m thankful for how this drama has so far remained steady in plot development, sane in character development, and squeeworthy … Continue reading →
Just two weeks after Yamashita Tomohisa confirmed his return to doramaland in the upcoming January 2012 Saikō no Jinsei no Owarikata: Ending Planner, the rest of the main cast has now been finalized. In some ways its better than I hoped for with some solid actors, and in other ways it has the requisite newbie idols I typically avoid. The … Continue reading →
Dayum, Rainie Yang has like the best job around these days. First she scored a good five months with Joseph Chang making moon eyes at each other and making out in Drunken to Love You, not to mention her long list of great co-stars in the past. Then she spent the Summer running all over Asia promoting her platinum album … Continue reading →
It’s with a happy heart I give thanks for everything wonderful in my life, and even more thanks for support and love to get me through the not so wonderful things. Dramas are fun diversions, but real life is about the simpliest of things that can’t translate onscreen. Man of Honor is about as far away from my real life, … Continue reading →
My feelings towards Lee Da Hae has been an undulating wave of love and annoyance over the years, which says something for her eliciting strong feelings from her fans and detractors alike. I’ve been both at times, but recently found myself seeing her in a new light after she wowed half of China by showing up on the popular variety program … Continue reading →
Episode 14 of Office Girls introduced a new side theme song by Quack Wu called “Too Calm” (太冷靜), which played when Zi Qi went to pick out items to prepare for his grand declaration to Xing Ren. This made me realize that I didn’t include Quack Wu’s two side themes in my OG OST songs download link post a few … Continue reading →
Yay, so happy that episode 13 of Man of Honor reversed the doldrums and regained some of its snap, crackle, and pop back. While this drama isn’t turning out to be anywhere near great, at least the hope remains alive that it won’t have a second half collapse. The story picked up significantly in this episode on all fronts, and … Continue reading →
Talking about taking a great leap forward after running in place for a few episodes. Episode 13 (and the previews for episode 14) of Man of Honor indicate that multiple game-changing reveals are here or on its way. I’m so thrilled the drama upped the pace and the stakes rather than idle around the kids trying to get into Geodae. … Continue reading →
