Yay, so happy that episode 13 of Man of Honor reversed the doldrums and regained some of its snap, crackle, and pop back. While this drama isn’t turning out to be anywhere near great, at least the hope remains alive that it won’t have a second half collapse. The story picked up significantly in this episode on all fronts, and … Continue reading →
Talking about taking a great leap forward after running in place for a few episodes. Episode 13 (and the previews for episode 14) of Man of Honor indicate that multiple game-changing reveals are here or on its way. I’m so thrilled the drama upped the pace and the stakes rather than idle around the kids trying to get into Geodae. … Continue reading →
Remember those flat and rather lifeless Winter Codes Combine pictures I brought of Jang Geun Seok and Park Shin Hye a few weeks ago here? Well, I’m happy to report the company released a short video CF and the same photo shoot now pops and sizzles. I’m not surprised, since Seok always comes alive in motion, and here he’s pouting … Continue reading →
I hope all the Bu Bu Jing Xin fans have finally returned to a semblance of their normal lives. I know I have, but having a sister just recently marathon her way through it and then wanting to discuss it at length does resurrect all my feelings for this wonderful drama. My scene recaps just naturally came to a halt … Continue reading →
It’s no secret that the recent episodes of Man of Honor left me underwhelmed, but perhaps my excitement over unexpectedly loving this drama so much rendered my expectations too high. I’ll take a wait-and-see approach and hope the story revs up this week and starts moving some substantive headway in some plot threads, if not all. I know the writer … Continue reading →
It’s round two of Full House 2 versus Koala’s eyes. My corneas put up a valiant battle, but the eyesore was so powerful I was ultimately vanquished. More new stills have trickled out from the set of FH2 starring No Min Woo, Hwang Jung Eum, and Park Ki Woong. If I concentrate on the very pretty faces of all three … Continue reading →
We’ve got another Taiwan idol drama baking in the oven. The production company for the currently airing Ring Ring Bell will be partnering with CTS for the upcoming drama I Love You So Much (Chinese title is the laughably lame ç²‰æ„›ç²‰æ„›ä½ , which is a pun for I love you so much but using the characters for putting on make up), … Continue reading →
I spent most of episode 14 of Office Girls in a state of dewy-eyed mooning, until the appearance of the witch returning from her spell-casting sabbatical jolted me awake and I realized things in OG land isn’t yet in a state of perpetual sunshine and rainbows and unicorns. While some folks find Xing Ren and Zi Qi’s slow burn relationship … Continue reading →
A bevy of top K-stars have been selected to model Cartier LOVE jewelry for this year’s Cartier Korea charity event, which has selected the International Vaccine Institute to receive a donation of a portion of Cartier’s proceeds from the December sales of its LOVE collection in Korea. I’m all for vaccinating children and even adults in high risk regions, plus … Continue reading →
Okay, if that picture above didn’t cause you to melt a little inside, you might be the distant cousin of a rock. The upcoming remake of Destiny’s Pair starring Vic Zhou, Xiao Xiao Bin, Ella, and Yang Mi is confirmed to premiere in February 2012. The production released a teaser MV last month that is part sweet-part angst. If you … Continue reading →
Wuxia movies in the golden day of HK cinema were my favorite genre, but the steady decline in quality and innovation has really seeped away all my excitement for any new offerings. I’m tentatively keeping my hopes in check for Director Tsui Hark‘s return to wuxia in his 3D offering Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, which isn’t a sequel to … Continue reading →
Nicky Wu was on this month’s cover and pages of Men Style China magazine, which is apropos since he’s a man’s man and the man has got some serious style. I’ve seen enough of Nicky’s career works to tell you he definitely looks better in modern garb, as opposed to other actors who are strangely better suited to play period … Continue reading →
One of my favorite young actresses in Korea is Park Bo Young, having won me over wholeheartedly with her one performance in Speedy Scandal. She is quirky and adorable, steely and vulnerable, pretty but not plastic. In short, her talent is Moon Geun Young-esque, with a dash of Im Soo Jung‘s oddball quality. She did a pictorial for Elle Girl … Continue reading →
