I’m about to get on a flight (flying while hung over is thankfully not a crime) so depending on whether my flight has WiFi, I may have to gnaw on my arms until I land to watch the latest episode of Office Girls. My outbound flight claimed to have WiFi, but the lying liars did not in fact have it, … Continue reading →
Bianca Bai is in the pages of Vogue Taiwan these month modeling wedding dresses. Bianca is like Tiffany Hsu for me, utterly gorgeous but a very mediocre actress always playing the second fiddle. I hope her turn as the best friend/rival to Ivy Chen‘s leading lady character in Skip Beat allows her to break out of her vase status and wow … Continue reading →
This weekend sees the premiere of yet another highly anticipated C-drama, the remake of the K-drama Shining Inheritance/Brilliant Legacy, this time starring Jerry Yan and Yedda Chen. I posted the two official MVs from the drama here, which made it look decent even if it doesn’t arouse my urge to watch a drama based on one I’ve already seen and … Continue reading →
European couture may going international in more ways than simply selling their wares around the world. Miu Miu selected arguably two of China’s top young actresses to be the face of its Winter 2006 ad campaign, Zhou Xun and Dong Jie (Angel Dong). I like Miu Miu’s eclectic style more than Prada‘s penchant for linear fashion ensembles, so I’m beyond thrilled the … Continue reading →
I swear it’s not because I’ve got nothing to write about that I dug up the most recent endorsement pictures of Roy Qiu, nor a sign that my love for him has spiraled out of control. It’s fully under control, even a bit hot under the collar. Roy was with model Cindy Song at the Casio Edifice media even this … Continue reading →
It’s official. The upcoming movie White Vengeance might actually wash away some of the bitter taste left in my mouth from the absurd history-mashing nonsense that was Red Cliff (which came with bonus bad acting!). WV is about the historically infamous Feast at Hao Gate which brought together two warring powers seeking to unite China, the Western Hegemon King Xiang … Continue reading →
I hope this week’s episode of Office Girls is as good as the previews suggest. I’m actually fine with Xing Ren leaving and a time jump, even if I don’t think the story will go that way. Kai Er’s back this week, and she’s sporting the same hairstyle as Xing Ren. Clearly that is no coincidence, and I can see … Continue reading →
Hey! I’ve gotten very few entitled and whiny comments about why the Man of Honor episode 12 recap isn’t up yet. Probably cuz not many people are following this drama, but I like to think folks are getting more polite and thoughtful as a general rule. I was traveling all day, and then had to go dining and boozing (so … Continue reading →
Good lord, that is like the cutest poster for a rom-com drama, but why must it be paired with the worst possible English title on the planet? Did CTS have no one on staff who has more than an elementary schooler’s comprehension of English? The upcoming TW-drama, which I initially translated the title literally as True Love Asks for Trouble … Continue reading →
In Time With You may not be close to winning the ratings crown in the Sunday night battle with Office Girls, but it’s gotten very solid ratings along with exceptional critical acclaim. The cast and crew should feel very proud. My own personal problems with ITWY stem purely from the writing and I’m thrilled to see Ariel Lin and Bolin … Continue reading →
I try to avoid posting about casting rumors, unless it’s something too good to be true and I need to squeal about it here otherwise I might go insane. K-news have been reporting today that THE ultimate chemistry-filled onscreen pairing might be reunited for another go around. Hopefully this time nowhere near Bali. Jo In Sung and Ha Ji Won … Continue reading →
It’s finally here! The first teaser trailer for Noh Hee Kyung‘s Padam Padam: The Sound of His and Her Hearbeat starring Jung Woo Sung, Han Ji Min, and Kim Bum was just released. It’s……different, and fascinating. Not quite what I expected, but then again, I really didn’t know what to expect considering the flimsy plot synopsis and the steady stream … Continue reading →
I’m feeling a tiny bit of Man of Honor plot fatigue setting in. I think the drama needs a game-changing moment right now to kick start which has been solid plot foundation that has been decreasing in intensity for me. We’re eleven episodes in and the gang is still trying to pass only the second stage of the test to … Continue reading →
