Okay folks, my December is reserved now. Every other drama out there airing during that time, to the left please. It’s been confirmed finally that my Jung Woo Sung is back, baby! And in a Noh Hee Kyung-penned drama no less. It’ll air on SBS in December and is tentatively called Padam Padam: The Sound of His and Her Heartbeat. Oh … Continue reading →
All hail the return of baby recaps. Okay, I kid, the existence of baby recaps for Spy Myung Wol probably chafes since it means a full recap isn’t forthcoming for this drama. But if you look at it from another perspective, this allows me to finish the journey with the Spy fans, and doesn’t require me to “think” too hard … Continue reading →
I really appreciate all the thoughtful and considerate responses to my predicament about dropping my Spy Myung Wol recaps. The last time I considered dropping a recap (for 49 Days), people started insulting my taste in dramas and being generally very rude. Thank you Spy-ers for being very cool about it. As such, I am definitely not going to recap … Continue reading →
I never want to make any changes to the site without letting folks know about it, so you can decide if you still want to play here or go elsewhere. Some of you may have noticed ads popping up this weekend, rather unobtrusively at the end of some posts. I’m beta-testing simple ads. Since the Playground became self-hosted at the end … Continue reading →
Here I thought Haruhi’s word-slam attack on Tamaki would always end up with him against the wall. Now get your mind our of the gutter folks, I meant in a very mortifying way for him. But this episode proves that when Tamaki royally screws up, word-slams send him flying elsewhere, and a whole lot farther from his Haruhi than he … Continue reading →
I gave the written preview for episode 9 of Spy Myung Wol the benefit of the doubt. I expressed reservations with the plot continuing to veer towards insanity, but I still desperately want this drama to be good and remain wacky but intriguing. But it’s current direction really may not be my cup of tea. I didn’t find the preview … Continue reading →
Two lawyers married to each other. Man, that hits really close to home. I hope to god the script for Can’t Lose with Choi Ji Woo and Yoon Sang Hyun is good, because a story resting solely in the charisma and chemistry if the leads without much of a hook otherwise (bickering couple in the midst of a messy divorce … Continue reading →
The casting for the highly-regarded upcoming Kim Soo Hyun-penned SBS melodrama Thousand Day Promise has finished it’s casting. Joining leads Su Ae and Kim Rae Won will be Lee Sang Woo, who worked with writer Kim Soo Hyun on her last drama Life is Beautiful, as well as Moon Jung Hee. Kim Rae Won will be discharged from military service … Continue reading →
I have a soft spot for Han Hye Jin because her big break as an actress came in the same drama where my Kang Ji Hwan had his big break as an actor – Be Strong Geun Soon, still the only daily K-drama I have ever watched, and ever intend to watch. My eyes almost wanted to sue me for … Continue reading →
OMG, HeonHee is back together again. Just so I’m clear, it’s HeonHee and not HwanHye. Heh. (Forgive this nerd’s love of alliterated couples names). Song Song Heon and Kim Tae Hee arrived in Taiwan yesterday for a promotional tour on behalf of My Princess, which will begin airing in Taiwan this week. I have a gut feeling the drama will … Continue reading →
I miss the Dream High gang, who created memorable high school characters and made their friendship and rivalry feel real and relatable. Of the six leads, only Kim Soo Hyun is an actor foremost, and he’s also currently the only one doing an acting project, the big-budget heist movie Thieves. Eunjung is on We Got Married but I don’t consider … Continue reading →
We have achieved kissage already by episode 5! In an action thriller drama? Who would’ve thunk it. And it’s not even either set of OTPs I had previously mapped out in my head (Pi Zi-Xi Ying or Ying Xiong-Chen Ling). It feels so illicit and hot, this OTP musical chairs we’re suddenly witnessing. The kiss was so unexpected I think … Continue reading →
From the very first episode until the very last episode, I Need Romance remained consistent for me. It was consistently different and elegantly presented. Focusing on the lives, loves, and friendship of three women in their thirties living in Korea, INR packed a lot of interesting issues to ponder into each 45-minute episode. For me, all of the characters felt … Continue reading →
