So this is wildly complicated and just mostly stupid. This week the hot C-drama of summer 2022 CF fandom of Love Between Fairy and Devil nearly caused a war between the respective fandoms of leads Dylan Wang and Yu Shu Xin (Esther Yu). There is a dedicated fandom of the drama CP that ships the leads together and are not … Continue reading →
Okay K-pop peeps, y’all gotta explain why her over the other fresh faced ingenues out this year. One of the biggest new K-pop girl groups out is IVE and the breakout from that group is Jang Won Young. She’s even bigger now then when she was in IZ*ONE and even I’ve heard of her from how mainstream popular she is. … Continue reading →
I did not watch the 202o C-drama The Romance of Tiger and Rose but it was popular and helped add to the rise of leads Zhao Lu Si and Ding Yu Xi. This week C-netizens think the former costars are dating thanks to using the same cell phone case in different colors, hers is girly purple and his is more … Continue reading →
Menswear is as avante garde and as ordinary as one wants it, unlike women’s fashion which does trend en masse with seasons the guys can be a solo trendsetter or as old school as he likes. It’s all about how the guy embodies the outfits, does it look forced or even the most eccentric item or touch seem interesting and … Continue reading →
In honor of this being Halloween October 31st, it feels fitting to post about an upcoming horror movie that will be a first as it’s a Taiwanese production. Famed horror mangaka Junji Ito is having his major stories adapted into a TW-movie live action that started filming earlier this year and this week released the first two stills. It’s really … Continue reading →
As South Korea grapples with how the Itaewon Halloween weekend celebration led to so many deaths and injuries, the entertainment world is taking quick action on programming this week during the formal national mourning declared by the government. I’ve watched countless child actors and actresses grow up and of course even more fresh-faced acting talents go from ingenue to veterans yet some hit harder than others in reminding of the passage of time. This weekend on October 29th it was the birthday of TW-actress Ariel Lin, maybe my fave of all time, and she was turning a big … Continue reading →
With over 150 casualties and similar number of injuries, the list of people in the Itaewon Halloween crush tragedy is starting to come out. Life goes on even after major tragedy but some adjustments happen and such is is the case in South Korea. It’s been a scant day after the Halloween celebration tragedy in Itaewon that led to a stamped crowd crush now over 150 deaths. The country has announced a national mourning period for one week and with that many things are … Continue reading →
I love love love how so many Taiwan movies these days capture the local customs, culture, and/or superstitions. The one at play here in the upcoming supernatural movie Marry My Dead Body is that one does not pick up a random red envelope on the ground. Instead of money it will contain the unfulfilled wishes of an early deceased who … Continue reading →
Well that was a quick turnaround for what could have been a really unexpected but somehow kinda neat K-ent star coupling. Song Joong Ki and Kim Tae Ri have each swiftly denied the dating rumors after someone claimed to have seen them dating incognito in Paris complete with a grainy picture of two people’s backs walking on the street. Surprisingly … Continue reading →
This is absolutely heartbreaking and horrifying so please if you have a trigger warning don’t look at some of the pictures below. On Saturday night October 29th in the Itaewon neighborhood in South Korea, famous for being trendy, clubby, and cool, a crowd stampede due to an excessive number of people swarming there for Halloween celebrations has currently lead to … Continue reading →
It’s rare in C-ent to have a drama get more attention for the director than the stars at the outset and that’s the track record to date for Director Yin Tao, who one after another keeps directing hits. Starring The Glory of the Tang Dynasty in 2017, he’s also directed Under the Power, Love and Redemption, Ancient Love Poetry, and … Continue reading →
