I love that C-stars seem to be having the most fun when it comes to fashion, the aiming higher and either it totally works or it doesn’t but less the comfortable safe zone. C-actor Gong Jun earlier this month was at a Vogue China event and he wore a recent runway Louis Vuitton custom suit that’s totally to die for … Continue reading →
Ok, this dating combo is so out of left field I’m still craning my neck to wonder where the heck it came from. Perhaps it’s not so surprising to fans of the two stars swept up together since they worked together before and only had complimentary things to say about each other during the promo of their movie. I’m talking … Continue reading →
We’re coming the end of the child actor Kim Kang Hoon era is my first reaction upon watching this latest preview for jTBC drama Reborn Rich. At 13 years old he’s about to be a teen and there goes the last decade where he basically played the younger version of every major actor male lead in a K-drama, the Yeo … Continue reading →
Well, with two big K-ent celeb weddings in this month along with Gong Hyo Jin–Kevin Oh followed by Kim Yuna–Go Woo Rim, it’s now time to settle into baby watch! It’s down to the final stretch for married A-listers Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, who tied the knot in March of 2022 followed by a honeymoon baby with arrival … Continue reading →
Like, who came up with this concept and staging for a drama promo pictorial? Bazaar Korea has the four leads of upcoming KBS drama Curtain Call gathered together just to look collectively miserable. There is brooding with a very drab grey/blue backdrop and a police procedural lineup vibe. Ha Ji Won manages to make her solo look couture and I … Continue reading →
It’s been a slow release for K-actress Gong Hyo Jin on her wedding to singer Kevin Oh last week in New York. They kept it private with friends and family but as public stars it was bound to come out to plenty of interested fans. This week Gong Hyo Jin shared herself the first direct shots of her as the … Continue reading →
I have very low expectations for this upcoming sageuk drama lol but that’s a great thing because it has nowhere to go but up. MBC is readying for the November release of The Forbidden Marriage, taking over the Sat-Sun time slot from Gold Spoon. Based on a webtoon, the drama tells of a Crown Prince still mourning the death of … Continue reading →
Fall is my favorite season and rom-coms my favorite genre so it has been such a sad disappointment the last two months to not have fall weather arrive yet and for the rom-com The Law Cafe (Love by Law). It starred two faves of mine Lee Seung Gi and Lee Se Young who both can act AND had shown great … Continue reading →
This certainly is a helpful chart (see below) and these will be like 80% of the leading ladies we see in C-dramas in the next 3-5 years in regular rotation. With the remaining the past and still current 4 Flowers like Yang Zi, Yang Mi, Dilraba Dilmarut, Liu Shi Shi, Crystal Liu, and Bai Lu who are even more in … Continue reading →
This is looking like a battle of the acting greats with Lee Sung Min and Song Joong Ki going mano-a-mano in the new teaser for Reborn Rich (The Youngest Son of the Chaebol). jTBC has slipped a bit since that year stretch where it was putting out unexpected strong dramas but remains capable of producing quality fare. Reborn Rich takes … Continue reading →
A C-movie is coming that seems suitable as a remake thanks to some really prime young star casting. The movie is called My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday with the Chinese title Reverse Counting Love You, but the original Japanese movie is called Boku wa Ashita, Kinou no Kimi to Date Suru (Tomorrow’s Me, Went on a Date with Yesterday’s You). The … Continue reading →
The promos are starting early for this upcoming C-drama, which I don’t see airing until next year 2023 and hopefully there is nothing objectionable about the subject matter to get into the crosshairs of SARFT. Nothing But You finished filming already with leads Wu Lei and Zhou Yu Tong doing their version of the older woman-younger man romance set in … Continue reading →
I love bookends and when you live long enough you see it more and more heh. This weekend K-movie 20th Century Girl premiered on Netflix with positive reviews and solid rankings on worldwide and Asian charts. I cared more about the story and acting and the feedback is that Kim Yoo Jung held down the fort as expected but her … Continue reading →
