It’s a week with multiple Cha Seung Won news items and that makes me happy. First came his runway appearance at the Seoul Fall Fashion Week looking fly as can be. He’s always been a hot ahjusshi and year after year just builds upon it with maybe more white hair and wrinkles but also more charisma. Then came news that … Continue reading →
There may be a lot of meta in the upcoming KBS drama Curtain Call but right now it feels mega old school. It doesn’t help that it brings early aughts melodrama made famous leads Ha Ji Won and Kwon Sang Woo together though he’s likely not getting the girl as the second male lead this time. Kang Ha Neul throws … Continue reading →
At least the confirmation came swiftly on the heels of the rumored casting for this one, saves a lot of speculation and maybe even potential early in fighting between fandom leads. C-drama Love in Camp (earlier title Accidental Love) is confirmed with leads Dylan Wang and Bai Lu and the earlier approval with 36-episodes has apparently been increased to 40-episodes. … Continue reading →
The Kim Sun Ho comeback train continues and honestly it’s being done in such a measured way one kudos to his agency. He did a stage performance in the fall and has resumed more interviews and CFs, and now he’s likely picking up his first K-drama since his October 2021 scandal paused his then red hot career. The drama is … Continue reading →
There weren’t a lot of people that watched tvN drama Awaken (Night and Day) but I was hella hooked thanks to the initially very intriguing sci-fi plus procedural mystery. Then it was the Namgoong Min and Lee Chung Ah show as the two riffed off one another and build this simmering incredible chemistry that works as police partners and as … Continue reading →
Lololol I love this news story because there is so much meta especially when one knows the drama writing background of screenwriter Im Sung Han. She’s the writer of hit dramas Love ft. Marriage & Divorce, Princess Aurora, New Tales of Gisaeng, The Jewel Family and many more dramas that always throws the characters into the deep end of the … Continue reading →
It’s a big wedding year for K-ent with four A-list wedding from the same generation of acting stars, two to each other heh – first Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin, then Namgoong Min to Jin Ah Reum, and now Gong Hyo Jin with Kevin Oh. It’s all billed as private friends and family wedding affairs but pictures leak and … Continue reading →
It’s the 30th anniversary next month in November 2022 for Elle Korea and it feels like a later entry for the magazine into South Korea than expected. It started sharing and influencing fashion in the early 90’s but missed the fast growth transition years of the 80’s. But in the intervening three decades South Korea is now not just a … Continue reading →
Oh what a difference a scandal makes, if he had enlisted in April 2022 there would have been such a groundswell of nostalgia and well-wishes but now it just feels like crickets. K-actor Nam Joo Hyuk will be heading off for his mandatory military service in December 2022 by year end as confirmed by his agency. He’s enlisting late as … Continue reading →
The Accidental Love has turned into Love as Camp and either way it’s still the same two stars initially rumored to star. Bai Lu and Dylan Wang will reportedly start filming the modern C-drama Love in Camp (以爱为营 Yi Ai Wei Ying), initially called Accidental Love. It’s a rom-com with a CEO and a goofy woman falling for each other … Continue reading →
tvN has been doing so well in the Sat-Sun time slot since the first drama of 2022 with Twenty Five, Twenty One leading to Our Blues then Alchemy of Souls followed by Little Women and now it’s got sageuk The Queen’s Umbrella. The serious with a comedic bent sageuk starring Kim Hye Soo as the titular queen putting all her … Continue reading →
Since time flies anyways one would hope to be as productive and prolific as K-actress Kim Go Eun, who celebrated her 10th debut anniversary on October 15h in Seoul with a fan meeting. She has done SO MUCH in a decade, starting with movies and venturing into dramas, with a few hiccups but never an instance where I thought she … Continue reading →
K-actress Gong Hyo Jin and singer Kevin Oh got married last week in New York and while it was a private friends/family affair some pictures have been shared. I love that we see glimpses and not the couple in the usual wedding poses. The above is the newlyweds in a soft hand held moment with their wedding rings and his/her … Continue reading →
