Watching the totally unexpected and frankly quite extraordinary ratings of ENA cable drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo (Weird Lawyer Woo Young Woo) will be a lot of fun in the coming weeks. And I definitely will check this out sooner rather than later so I can understand and partake of the hype. This Wednesday aired episode 3 and the ratings are … Continue reading →
This isn’t a total dumpster fire (yet) but it’s certainly the leading news story in the C-ent rags this week with the premiere of big budget period C-drama Love Like the Galaxy hitting like a sack of bricks. It’s predecessor drama A Dream of Splendor with Crystal Liu and Chen Xiao was a massive hit and even more impressive was … Continue reading →
There is a South Korea slang called “Kakao Hell” which means when the chat app is used to verbally harass and bully someone. This week a third accuser, this one is a woman whereas the first two accusers are both men, claiming that Nam Joo Hyuk subjected her to Kakao Hell. She said that another one of his friends started … Continue reading →
An article over the weekend discussing Sat-Sun SBS drama Why Her (Why Oh Soo Jae) delved into trying to analyze why the drama went from red hot start to a u-turned trajectory in the span of three weeks. The drama broke 10% ratings by episode 4 but since then has only gone down in ratings and the most recent episode … Continue reading →
Hit period C-drama A Dream of Splendor ended last week and taking its place was supposed to be another highly anticipated period C-drama Love Like the Galaxy (Xin Han Can Lan). Starring Wu Lei and Zhao Lu Si, the drama has instead had to deal with more articles being written about the costume (and to a lesser extent hairstyle) controversy. … Continue reading →
Quite a few K-actresses have made a mark playing a crazy type character and it’s almost always a uber rich and powerful crazy wife or daughter type role in a makjang or melodrama story line. K-actress Yoo Sun went from playing many a supporting roles over two decades to a big break in currently airing tvN drama Eve thanks to … Continue reading →
The Paris fashion shows are back this year in full force rather than the reduced events of the past two years during the height of the Pandemic era, and with it I feel like even more stars are in attendance to make up for the lost years. Song Hye Kyo has been the face of Chaumet jewelry for many years … Continue reading →
A week after news broke that first one accuser and days later a second accuser pointed fingers at K-actor Nam Joo Hyuk for bullying them during his school days, tabloid newspaper Dispatch has released an article that includes interviews with 18 classmates and 2 teachers that refute the bullying accusations. The interviews present the narrative that Nam Joo Hyuk did … Continue reading →
There have been so many big name A-list C-stars cancelled in China for tax evasion, the most recently being Deng Lun, that B-list stars and below should know better and yet there is still this happening. This weekend it was revealed that actress Crystal Yuan (Yuan Bing Yan) best known for the period drama Love and Redemption and most recently … Continue reading →
So my life feels like two extremes during the COVID pandemic era. I suddenly went from flying all the time for work to flying not at all and then recently flying all the time for personal family emergency reasons with no equilibrium. One thing I realized is that I hate flying in any situation but hearing the familiar safety video … Continue reading →
Sigh, it’s another LONG week before my next fix of Alchemy of Souls and the crack that the Hong Sisters are doling out in very controlled portions. Because the drama is so good it makes the wait harder and also each weekend’s new episodes to be savored. This weekend the ratings stayed the same to last weekend, with Sunday’s episode … Continue reading →
I don’t know what this is since it’s brand spanking new and could be a precursor for what is already being deemed a complete shitshow that will be the year end 2022 SBS Drama Awards. There are FOUR top actor/actress that could get the Daesang and three have already aired dramas to rave reviews and ratings. There is Kim Nam … Continue reading →
Waaaaaah, the first look is here! Does it look potentially amazing or nah I’m still not feeling it? Top stars Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Min Ho have been filming sci-fi romance drama Ask the Stars for the last few months but this weekend they posted selfies on SNS that are adorbs! I mean, they look cute and charming together … Continue reading →
