At this point I wouldn’t even say K-actress Seo Ye Ji is attempting a “comeback” after her being a manipulative gaslighter girlfriend to Kim Jung Hyun scandal from February 2021 last year. It feels like she merely passed on one project and landed on another and next month she’s back on the small screen with Eve in the Wed-Thurs time … Continue reading →
The question in the next few weeks is whether just finished tvN Mon-Tues drama Military Prosecutor Doberman will remain in the 2nd spot or drop to 3rd with the similar high ratings of still airing tvN weekend drama Our Blues. Military Prosecutor Doberman concluded this week and this drama actually had really high ratings for tvN but remains quite underrated … Continue reading →
It’s not a bad place to be Im Soo Hyang as the titular Woori the Virgin in the upcoming SBS drama, but for the fact that she’s going to be a mom and hasn’t even had sex haha. It’s the remake of the show Jane the Virgin which has broad awareness and seems like a perfect fit for a K-drama … Continue reading →
This is another one of those 1-for-1 swaps that I’m good with either way. K-ent is reporting that Lee Jun Young (Jun) has been offered the male lead in the upcoming K-drama Ildangbaek Butler, the role that last month was in talks with Yoon Do Joon but he’s now passed on the offer. The female lead is going to be … Continue reading →
Oops, another blip in the filming radar but these are becoming commonplace and may even be built into production time lines from now on. D.O. (Do Kyung Soo) has joined the ranks of the COVID-19 positives and he’s currently asymptomatic and at home in quarantine. He’s been filming the legal drama True Sword Battle which despite the title is not … Continue reading →
Filming is underway for the upcoming SBS legal drama One Thousand Won Lawyer (1000 Won Lawyer) which has a script that won the network’s contest in 2015 but has been in pre-production until securing the cast late last year. Headlining is award winning actor Namgoong Min who once again proves he’s not just a thespian but has the method actor … Continue reading →
Well this new drama title certainly captures the “hire an actor to play a fake grandson” central plot a whole lot more. The K-drama formerly titled Tree Dies on Their Feet is now called Curtain Call and has secured the actors and actress who will be taking their curtain call once the drama is all over. Ha Ji Won has … Continue reading →
It’s not fair for the men to get all the attention from the A Business Proposal so this is second female lead Seol In Ah‘s turn to shine. She’s in a new CF pictorial today and it’s a simple elegant khaki colored chic spread. I noticed that her early days she looked much more classic young woman K-beauty with the … Continue reading →
The speed at which K-ent and the ancillary media moves always impresses me. It’s definitely not lugubrious at a dinosaur pace, whenever there is a breakout or even the inklings of on the casting agents descend from both film to print. A Business Proposal delivered second male lead Kim Min Kyu the exposure he’s been missing until now and the … Continue reading →
All this talk around the casting of K-drama Tree Dies on Their Feet made me forget that male lead Kang Ha Neul will be back on the small screen before then first with jTBC drama Insider. The drama released the first poster today and it shows the male lead juxtaposed as a judicial intern and a prisoner but both looking … Continue reading →
When there is a breakthrough it’s always so fun to watch the star in question embrace that exposure. For K-actor Ahn Hyo Seob, he’s actually able to strike while the A Business Proposal success iron is still hot as he’s already filming his next drama the Korean remake of Someday or One Day which will air later this year. I … Continue reading →
Ratings are important for recouping production investment and ensuring more K-dramas are made, but sometimes there are gems that don’t get the broader reception but linger as an asset to the genre. Such is the trajectory of jTBC Sat-Sun drama My Liberation Diary, it took over the time slot from Forecasting Love and Weather but is bringing in less than … Continue reading →
Well, it looks like the weekend ratings bonanza is over for the time being now that the first batch out of the 2022 gate is over and the current crop unable to match the same audience interest. This weekend had two new premieres, the first was tvN drama Shooting Star which is a Fri-Sat drama and yesterday’s episode 1 was … Continue reading →
