The post-Squid Game craze in the US around movie actor Lee Jung Jae has finally died down after the holidays and I’m glad because it was so weird to see US reporters hyping him when he’s been a TOP STAR in Korea for two decades. I’m glad he got the chance at Western audience popularity and it’ll be interesting to … Continue reading →
This is the last Netflix K-drama to air from that huge batch announced at the beginning of 2021, most of which went on to global viewership exposure with Squid Game being the most famous. All of Us are Dead is a high school setting zombie K-drama with a relatively unknown/rising young cast adapted from the same name webtoon. It dropped … Continue reading →
If Seo Ye Ji can make an acting return no reason for Kim Jung Hyun not to try. They both can still stumble if the K-netizens aren’t ready for it but might as well bull head your way through if an acting career remains the end goal. Kim Jung Hyun has changed agencies finally after last year when he tried … Continue reading →
It’s kinda ironic that after all that hullabaloo around jTBC Sat-Sun drama Snowdrop it will likely end with a whimper and a sigh. No one protesting and not much people watching left. It’s okay though, the ardent fans can still cheer on their Jisoo and the casual fans hopefully get a satisfying ending for those who like the story. I’ve … Continue reading →
Wow, I haven’t heard this drama mentioned in quite some time and honestly I feel like every single actor and actress involved has moved on completely by now. K-ent is reporting that the production company behind fantasy sageuk Arthdal Chronicles has licensed the IP to produce a video game and also a manhwa story. It belies the question on who … Continue reading →
Oh gosh this is so so lovely. I think any viewer who thinks that sometimes Park Shin Hye doesn’t express believable love onscreen with certain leading men can rest assured that it’s not on her, because she absolutely is in love with her husband actor Choi Tae Joon with what we see in these two pictures. Same goes for him, … Continue reading →
Sure we’re only two years into the new decade that the the (not) Roaring Twenties, more like the Pandemic Twenties in this century versus the last century, and so far the least surprising celeb couple’s relationship news came today when married C-actors Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy announced their divorce. There was an official press release and simultaneous posting on their … Continue reading →
So this show is not being billed as a K-drama in the traditional sense, upcoming Apple TV drama Pachinko is based on a New York Times bestselling novel by a Korean-American writer with a story starting in post-war Korea and then moving to Japan and the US following four generations of a Korean family. I would say the Japan setting … Continue reading →
This is definitely new year new start for K-actor Jang Dong Yoon. He was supposed to have had a fantastic 2021 with the highly anticipated big budget zombie sageuk Joseon Exorcist and that turned into him taking an extended hiatus until the whole cancellation brouhaha died down. This year he’s coming back with the rom-com drama My Man is Cupid … Continue reading →
The ratings for SBS Mon-Tues romance Our Beloved Summer would have been okay had the drama aired on cable network like tvN but being a prime time drama it is undeniably low and not what was expected for a high profile quality project starring two successful movie actors in Choi Woo Shik and Kim Da Mi. The ratings started with … Continue reading →
New year but same handsome and cool Lee Min Ho. This week he shared new pictures from a Hugo Boss pictorial that is from the casual Boss line and he’s wearing a simple logo hoodie. But the difference is when a top star like Lee Min Ho wears it he just looks so effortlessly bomb when he’s posing haha. This … Continue reading →
I’ve been shuffling around the house a lot this winter because I don’t want to bundle up like I’m a squashmallow or turn on the heater and dry out my skin, but it really is cold from the bones out at times. It would be nice to have an alternative source of warmth like the Swoony male leads offer in … Continue reading →
I’ve had my eye on Lee Jun Young (Jun of U-Kiss) since I randomly decided to watch the really bad but inexplicably addicting idol drama Imitation last year. He’s also on the K-ent watch as a rising male actor who is poised to break out this year and I hope he does because I saw so much charisma and potential. … Continue reading →
