Whoever in the plot department thought it was a good idea to put Ha Ram in a jail for the entirety of two full episodes and separated from Chun Gi deserves a spanking. They are the only interesting aspect of Lovers the Red Sky and without them together the entire drama devolves into (1) Chun Gi must restore the royal … Continue reading →
Every time I see the title of tvN sageuk Inspector Joy I read it as Inspector Gadget which totally dates me but ah those were the idyllic times of after school cartoons. A good hearted bumbling inspector is what I also expect from this sageuk which combines Taecyeon as the titular inspector and Kim Hye Yoon as a woman named … Continue reading →
It’s just ten days away from the arrival of big budget tvN drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri), a new genre for K-dramas to tackle the outdoor action realm of mountaineering and mountain rescues. The drama stars Jeon Ji Hyun, Joo Ji Hoon, Sung Dong Il, Oh Jung Se, Jo Han Chul, and Go Min Si in a crowded park ranger team … Continue reading →
So K-actor Lee Do Hyun, yeah I totally called that he was going to be the next big thing two years ago when my little eye spied him in Hotel Del Luna. He owes me a reunion in IU in any era but that aside he’s just on fire in terms of K-drama roles and casting offers. In the span … Continue reading →
Wow, I feel like this K-drama aired sooooo long ago and I checked the date and it was in 2014 which both seems long ago but also kinda like yesterday if I check my life rolodex. K-drama Discovery of Love with Eric, Jung Yumi, and Sung Joon in the love triangle to end all love triangles is getting a C-drama … Continue reading →
I don’t know if its the webtoon for creating such a believable and workable romance journey (I read only the first twenty chapters) or the drama for hitting a home run on the casting and directing, but everything about Yumi’s Cells is working for me and keeps getting better. I thought I was Team Woong forever since his adorkable hotness … Continue reading →
This Monday I was so busy I barely had time to stop for a drink of water so I’ll preface this by saying I haven’t had the time to check out the premiere of new KBS Mon-Tues romance sageuk The King’s Affection (Yeonmo). This one crept up on me, I was following all the promos and previews closely but totally … Continue reading →
Okay, who here is old enough to remember the absurdist brilliancy of Vampire Idol. This sounds like that crossed with Vampire Prosecutor, well you get my drift when there is K-drama plus vampire theme plus fighting for justice plus low budget stakes. There is an upcoming Youtube K-drama called Bite Sisters that will be Kang Han Na in her first … Continue reading →
We’re in October now so this may be one of the last K-dramas to air in 2021 with the time remaining. The script reading stills are out for the cast of tvN drama Shooting Star set in the entertainment industry. It sounds and feels a lot like Record of Youth just in overall set up. Starring Lee Sung Kyung and … Continue reading →
I can say that timing could not be better for this drama, and honestly I would have watched it anyways because it sounds interesting. The first stills are out for tvN drama Bad and Crazy, though the stills were released by Chinese streaming platform iQiyi which has the simulcast rights. The drama stars Lee Dong Wook as a morally ambiguous … Continue reading →
The two women intertwined in each other’s life type story seems to be on the rise, with upcoming Reflection of You (A Person Like You) and also with The Second Anna. Suzy has already been cast as the female lead and now Jung Eun Chae is joining the drama as the other female lead. It’s the story of a woman … Continue reading →
I think my love and massive attachment to Dali and the Cocky Prince (Dal Ri and Gamjatang) is more subjective than objective at this point but then who the heck cares anymore. I’m so addicted and can’t explain why other than Kim Min Hae‘s Moo Hak is so entertaining with his outward bluster and inward dorkiness plus Park Kyu Young‘s … Continue reading →
There’s a new project on Shin Hye Sun‘s horizon and it sounds just right for her. She’s considering an offer to be the female lead in the K-movie Brave Citizen, adapted from a webtoon. It’s the story of a high school hapkido prodigy and national champion who grows up to be come a teacher and gets targeted by an evil … Continue reading →
