After the SBS zombie sageuk drama Joseon Exorcist debacle, I just hoped that none of the cast members would be negatively affected by the netizen witch hunt to yeet that drama out of existence. Male lead Jang Dong Yoon clearly was highly scrutinized to express appropriate levels of remorse for being involved with the drama and I’m not sure if … Continue reading →
Oh this is such great news! K-actor Jang Geun Seok has been offered the male lead in upcoming early 2022 Kakao TV streaming drama Unexpected Country Diary and he’s expected to take it and make his small screen return in 4 years since SBS drama Switch: Change the World. The drama synopsis is about a man who falls in love … Continue reading →
Okay, it looks this this past weekend was prime delicious drama viewing time with not just one but two weekend dramas having a breakout. For TV Chosun drama Marriage Lyrics and Divorce Music written by queen of makjang Im Sung Han, this weekend hit a new high of 11.885% and more importantly viewers are mad praising the drama. The general … Continue reading →
Sorry for not writing about recently premiered tvN drama The Devil Judge (Demon Judge) until now. I am way more interested in this drama from Ji Sung than I was in his wifey and also my darling Lee Bo Young‘s Mine which preceded this because nothing turns me off faster than rich people family makjang. But I didn’t love episode … Continue reading →
I recently took my first flight in 20 months and it was a long enough one that I could watch some movies that I know are best consumed as time fillers. One was the most recent Confidence Man offering in the series which started as a dorama and then got an SP, then a first movie, and now a second … Continue reading →
Being a grown up child actress fairly guarantees double the attention, from those who still remember the child era and those who stumble upon in the adult era, and the intersectional in between. Kim So Hyun even as a kid got tons of comparisons to adult actresses she resembled in looks/acting and all the commentary was good, but as an … Continue reading →
I remember when K-dramas always had a scary/creepy/horror themed drama ready to air in late July/early August when it’s lunar new year ghost month. It’s doesn’t happen regularly anymore but this year there will be Shaman Girl Da Doo Shim streaming on Kakao TV in three weeks time. Starring Kim Sae Ron and Nam Da Reum, the drama centers around … Continue reading →
So this is what it’s like to send your son off to his first day at the Firm. Appropriately cut suit in grey, dark tie, button down in white, and as a mom it’s time to whip out the congrats gift in the form of a chunky Mido watch to complete the look. Kim Soo Hyun has been the brand … Continue reading →
I like cute couples with much in common and are against the odds of making it. It feels like reel and real combined and I’m rooting for the underdogs with only positivity around them. Sadly Korean idol couple Heechul of Super Junior (and variety hosting) fame and TWICE member Momo will not go the long haul. The couple has confirmed … Continue reading →
Okay, who is still buying DVD sets lol! OMG I feels like a lifetime ago but my incredible collection of K-drama DVD sets remind me constantly that was once the way to own faves. Anyhoo, Park Seo Joon is in K-ent news this week as Amazon Japan released the Best Sellers list of it’s K-dramas and his dramas make up … Continue reading →
This is totally family affairs that played out in public, and the happy ending probably makes it all worth it. K-actress Hwang Jung Eum has been married for a few years to a businessman husband and last year during the height of COVID-19 lockdowns she filed for divorce. During the pandemic there were quite a lot of breakups and divorces … Continue reading →
Okay this sounds like an interesting drama pick for Suzy. I also like she’s taking a drama first before the usual buzz over the male lead because she needs to either stand on her own or accept that she’s only able to do dramas with a equivalent male lead. Suzy has been cast in the Coupang Play thriller drama The … Continue reading →
I’m on the prowl for a new K-drama soon as my recent ones have ended or will end soon, and I wish tvN romance comedy drama Hometown Cha Cha Cha (formerly Seaside Village Cha Cha Cha) would be premiering this month or next especially since it seems so summery in vibe. Alas tvN hasn’t given it a confirmed time slot … Continue reading →
