Queen Cheorin Ratings Rise Slightly in Episode 10 and Hits New High with 12.836% as the King Gets Closer to Figuring Out He’s a Pawn Either Way

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I think Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) could have been so much more script-wise, and has been buoyed by the entertaining execution on the comedic stuff, the gorgeous visuals, and the top notch acting and chemistry of leads Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun. But the problem is that the King Cheoljeong history isn’t particularly ripe for incisive (re)examination and … Continue reading →

C-dramas have been widely criticized for plagiarism for decades, either outright or remaking other stories without paying a licensing fee. Mere days after hit screenwriter Kim Eun Sook‘s new drama was announced, got a female lead in top actress Song Hye Kyo, and revealed the name … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I love Jang Dong Yoon but it feels like his three most recent K-dramas are venn diagrams. Tale of Nokdu he played an discarded prince in a Joseon, Search he’s a soldier hunting zombies in the DMZ, and now in upcoming Joseon Exorcist he’s a prince hunting zombies in Joseon. Despite his baby face he’s quite suitable for action pieces … Continue reading →

Park Seo Joon Exudes Dapper Charm in Elle Korea January 2021 Pictorial

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

My brain was still on Park Seo Joon‘s army buzz cut look in early 2020 drama Itaewon Class for so long this feels like a breath of different visuals to change back his image. Park Seo Joon has two projects tee’d up for 2021, both movies, with Dream and Concrete Utopia, and of course he’s top of mind any time … Continue reading →

Song Hye Kyo’s New Drama by Kim Eun Sook is a Dark Revenge Thriller Titled The Glory

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Mmmmmmm okay……this was not what I was expecting but am pleasantly more interested in it now. A few days after news that K-actress Song Hye Kyo was reuniting with hit screenwriter Kim Eun Sook for her next drama there is not a title and bare bones synopsis to add color to the project. The drama doesn’t have a network confirmed … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I thought February 2021 was like crazy far away when I first heard that Park Shin Hye was signing on for a sci-fi thriller drama Sispyhus: The Myth with Jo Seung Woo. Yet now it’s like a month away, and wishing to slow down time clearly doesn’t work because I need to stop the next few years before the Koala … Continue reading →

Okay, the two cuties are just wayyyyy too cute, I think I may be able to watch this drama regardless of whether it’s written or directed well. Su Ae and Kim Kang Woo Sign on for jTBC Thriller K-drama Working City

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Well this is a nice pairing and a drama genre that works well for both. Kim Kang Woo and Su Ae will be the leads for mid year 2021 jTBC drama Working City, a thriller about covert actions and sacrifices to maintain society, and the scheming people who covet more power and wealth. I’ve really enjoyed the more tense thrillers … Continue reading →

Space Sweepers with Song Joong Ki and Kim Tae Ri Confirm February 5th Premiere on Netflix and Drops New Trailer

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I’m glad Netflix isn’t hoarding finished projects and appears to have a deft hand in releasing new titles quickly. The sci-fi action flick Space Sweepers (Spaceship Victory) was stymied twice in attempted movie release in South Korea during the multiple COVID-19 spikes last year so the production practically went and sold the movie rights to streaming giant Netflix with hopefully … Continue reading →
