The year long unceasing rumor that C-stars Huang Xiaoming (he of the leading man looks and crazy eyes acting) and Angelababy (she of the plastic surgery, porn star name, and major hard working drive) have hit a new peak last week with the Mid-Autumn Festival which is when families gather and entertainment shows generate special variety programs to capture the … Continue reading →

Yang Se Jong, Seolhyun, and Woo Do Hwan are Fully in Character as Charismatic Leads of jTBC Sageuk Drama My Country

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

With Arthdal Chronicles finished, there’s only two sageuks left for 2019 and only one that is more similar in sweeping scope. jTBC has been nicely promoting My Country with stylish posters and character teasers, and through it all male lead Yang Se Jong always looks totally wrecked like a hero strung through a ringer. Second male lead Woo Do Hwan … Continue reading →

Arthdal Chronicles Ends with 7.373% Ratings and Confirms There Will Another Season

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

tvN chose to bisect the airing of fantasy sageuk Arthdal Chronicles into technically three parts but aired in two segments. Part 1 and 2 aired together as 12-episodes, then came Hotel Del Luna, and now Part 3 aired as a final 6-episode chunk. But the story itself was Season 1 and boy did it sure feel like it. I don’t … Continue reading →

Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah Attend Press Conference for tvN Drama Melt Me Softly

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Upcoming tvN Sat-Sun K-drama Melt Me Softly clearly took it’s inspiration from the US movie Passengers, but without the problematic choice (bad choice) element that doomed the male lead’s intentions. It’s like the leads Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah are the only two frozen in time and are dealing with the same return to society shock, no wonder … Continue reading →

Moon Geun Young and Kim Sun Ho Keep the Subways Safe in Poster and First Teaser for tvN Drama Catch the Ghost

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Those who take subways daily know there is an inherent risk of it being late, dirty, and perhaps a tiny sliver of danger. But that’s subways in wild NYC and I honestly can’t see the subway system of well-run South Korean infrastructure teeming with danger. But that’s the premise which grounds upcoming tvN drama Catch the Ghost with Moon Geun … Continue reading →

Im Joo Hwan Joins Taecyeon and Lee Yeon Hee for MBC Procedural Thriller The Game: Towards Zero

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

OMG, please don’t make Im Joo Hwan into secretly the serial killer baddie in his next drama. Sorry I’m worried but this cutie pie keeps getting short shifted and honestly he’s better off being the nicest man in the world as he’s often been playing. Im Joo Hwan is currently in political family drama The Great Show but has lined … Continue reading →

It’s premiere week with some big name dramas I’ve been waiting for but due to work business and travel I’ve only been able to watch the new SBS Fri-Sat night drama Vagabond. A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s kinda adorable to think that original K-pop hunk Rain is the daddy to two daughters and by all accounts the kind of daddy who dotes on his little princess(es). Rain and Kim Tae Hee wed in early 2017 and had their first child a daughter later that year. They waited two more years and this week welcome the arrival … Continue reading →
