At this point Jeon Ji Hyun has moved the needle on flawless, she even looks good when I don’t like her entire outfit lol! The actress and mother of two made a CF appearance this week looking like she swanned perfectly made up without a hair out of place. Of course she has an entire team of handlers to shellack … Continue reading →
K-pop idol are a dime-a-dozen but the latest YG Entertainment foursome girl group Black Pink truly deserve the moniker of the Girls of Summer 2018. They are the face of Sprite in South Korea this year and the ladies Jennie, Lisa, Ji Soo, and Rose were absolutely refreshing decked out in short shorts and cute green tops for the CF … Continue reading →
I don’t know which I have a harder time of believing – that it’s been twenty years (!) since the hit drama Princess Returning Pearl swept all the Mandarin-speaking territories, or that two of the leads Zhao Wei and Alec Su are in their forties and look even more beautiful and handsome (respectively) than during their acting prime back then. … Continue reading →
I’m legit blown away by tvN drama Why Secretary Kim not because it’s really the best drama ever but because it’s managed remain simply very very good for the near entirety of its airing. This past week’s episodes 13-14 sent the Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young lovebirds on an adult romance path (finally!) while not creating real roadblocks … Continue reading →
I tease K-actor Kang Dong Won all the time for having wickedly atrocious fashion sense at his movie premieres one after another but I actually appreciate that he’s so different and confident. Too bad many of the outre or couture menswear outfits he dons at media events just don’t work in real life whereas it actually gets pulled off when … Continue reading →
A new flagship store for a major fashion couture house is sure to get the stars in attendance and there were plenty of Taiwan entertainers at hand for the grand opening of the new Christian Dior boutique in Taipei. But it was Korean actress-singer Suzy that stole the limelight, proving yet again how big Hallyu is and how popular she … Continue reading →
I not ashamed to let out a cat whistle upon seeing Lee Jun Ki‘s latest pictorial for Cosmopolitan Korea magazine. Wow wee is the man quite a specimen of athletic prowess coupled with chiseled model good looks. It feels like he’s hitting another peak in his acting career, Lawless Lawyer was a return to his specialty of intense emotional projection … Continue reading →
I’m not a fan of Gu Hye Sun in any of her artistic pursuits whether acting, directing, or painting. But I gotta give her credit for her total IDGAF attitude at last week’s red carpet opening of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival because she was full on fashion awful and didn’t care one whit. Gu Hye Sun was there … Continue reading →
This news is making mainstream Mandarin-language newspapers otherwise I wouldn’t report on it. The C-ent SNS sphere is lighting up over a sighting of K-actor Yoo Ah In this past Saturday spending all night partying at well known Shanghai gay club LG. There is a picture from that night and reportedly the man to the left of him is his … Continue reading →
You couldn’t pay me to watch SBS Wed-Thurs drama The Undateables (Handsome Guy and Jung Eum) after the excessive hijinks of the first episode and that opinion appears to be the majority in Korea as the drama wrapped up airing this Thursday having quite an inglorious ratings record. Wednesday’s penultimate episode recorded the lowest ratings for the series at 2.1% … Continue reading →
This is a huge K-drama confirmed casting but the impact has been tempered by the three leads names bandied about for some time in connection with this project. Upcoming ancient history sageuk Asadal has locked down leads Song Joong Ki, Kim Ji Won, Jang Dong Gun, and Kim Ok Bin. The four will front what is arguably the biggest K-drama … Continue reading →
I’m pretty annoyed as well so my opinion on this one is in line with the general audience feedback on the first two episodes of the just premiered Let’s Eat 3. The third go-around for Yoon Doo Joon as the foodie now feels unnecessary especially on the back of how the drama chose to deal with season 2 female lead … Continue reading →
It’s a good time to check in with K-actor Kim Woo Bin who celebrated his 30th birthday (Korean age) on July 16th. It’s fairly certain this young man, who has been battling nasopharyngeal cancer of the nose and throat, will clearly be exempt from military service and this time the K-netizens will finally not have salty and disapproving commentary. That … Continue reading →
