I know K-dramas love to feature chaebols and my favorite of those types of representations is the delusional self-absorbed type who is all bark and no bite, harmless in their narcissism like it’s a hobby. Park Seo Joon gets to play that very type of chaebol complete with his very capable dedicated secretary played by Park Min Young, with tvN … Continue reading →
The cast of upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama Wok of Love (Greasy Melo) is not greasy in the least despite what the Korean title calls it, though I am gearing up for there to to a dish of romance as foreshadowed by calling it melo. Starring Jang Hyuk, Jung Ryeo Won and Junho, the drama follows a small Chinese restaurant in … Continue reading →
Give Kim Go Eun for hitting a home run and making comfortable and practical travel wear seem like a million bucks. It doesn’t hurt that she’s accessorized with a smart and cute Chanel backpack to raise the couture quotient but clearly her jeans and sweater are expensive items that so happen to look down-to-earth so she wins on both fronts. … Continue reading →
This is such a controversy that can only happen in seniority conscious Korea but it’s happened and now rising young actor Jung Hae In will have to deal with the consequences. What was a great night for Jung Hae In at the 2018 Baeksang Awards where he took home the male television star Popularity Award has turned into a netizen … Continue reading →
I still vividly remember the three-way epic K-drama showdown way back in 2010, during what will now be remembered as the tail end of the Hallyu drama heydays. Three high profile prime time dramas premiered on the exact same day with Cinderella Unni, Personal Taste, and Prosecutor Princess. Each would have their strengths and weakness, and rabid fanbase, and I … Continue reading →
My drama watching has been sidetracked still with more J-dorama goodness but on the K-drama side it’s sporadic and not the usual prime time fare that I usually watch. The Wed-Thurs time slot is making moves with the second week of new arrival Suits on KBS, with the drama growing from the premiere week of 7.4% to 9.7% this Wednesday. … Continue reading →
The fashion do’s and don’ts remain my favorite past time for awards shows, mostly because I can’t bother to care about winners that sometimes feel arbitrary or tied to popularity. The 2018 54th Annual Baeksang Arts Awards took place Thursday night on May 3rd in Seoul and the award winners were actually quite spot on picks for the most part. … Continue reading →
I’m definitely seeing the handsome part of upcoming SBS romance drama Handsome Guy and Jung Eum with the release of the first stills of male lead Namgong Min. He’s so nomnomnom fine, and getting better with age especially if I flash back to Can You Hear My Heart days opposite his then costar Hwang Jung Eum who he now reunites … Continue reading →
Coming back from maternity leave fast doesn’t surprise me with K-actress Lee Shi Young. She’s such a hard worker and it’s important to keep up the visibility in the quick moving world of fresh faces in K-ent. Lee Shi Young has signed up to be the female lead for MBC summer drama Life and Death Romance, which also confirmed male lead … Continue reading →
We ladies all have good days and bad days, and if we’re lucky the good day can go for an entire week. K-actress Park Min Young is have a very good look week both in dramas and real life thanks to her higher profile roles in two upcoming projects. First above is her official still from KBS drama Why Secretary … Continue reading →
I wasn’t expecting anything other than perfunctory drama posters for upcoming tvN legal thriller Lawless Lawyer so consider me happily spoiled that the first official poster is so awesome! Or more specifically, male lead Lee Jun Ki is so awesome in it, singlehandedly elevating the standard dark background everyone standing around K-drama poster for the thriller genre into something that … Continue reading →
I gotta give credit to the cast and crew of MBC drama The Great Seducer for working so hard despite the awful to watch results. I give it an A for effort (I think) and only ask that the failed elements from writing, directing and acting not participate in future dramas. Perhaps leading lady Joy is the easiest target, the … Continue reading →
I’m so numb to the K-drama PPL escalating insanity but even I was almost jolted to annoyance upon spotting a cold coffee cup in male lead Suho‘s hands in the official drama poster for MBN cable drama Rich Man, adapted from the J-dorama Rich Man, Poor Woman. When everyone in a drama eats at Subway and/or frequents the same three … Continue reading →
