Congrats to KBS weekend drama My Golden Life for just breaking the 40% AGB ratings threshold with this weekend’s episode 30, hitting 41.8% nationwide and cementing it as the highest rated drama of 2017. The drama still has another 20-episodes left and could break 50% if it keeps increasing, with viewer stickiness very high with this drama and also the … Continue reading →
It’s undeniable that singer-actress IU is supremely talented at the singer part of her entertainment career, but through it and her acting works she’s developed an incredible network of supportive colleagues. She’s been holding a series of concerts this December and the night of the 9th brought out a veritable who’s who of top stars attending as happy audience members. … Continue reading →
I want to give a shout out to OCN thriller fantasy drama Black, a drama I waited a few weeks in before getting started and never looked back in the level of hooked intensity it had me every weekend. The drama averaged 3.308% ratings which is high for a cable drama and one of the highest ever for the smaller … Continue reading →
The latest character reveals for tvN fantasy drama Hwayugi (A Korean Odyssey) continue to impress with the visuals and creativity. Supporting female leads Bora and Lee Se Young make their debuts in drastically contrasting looks. Bora plays top star Alice under the agency of Cha Seung Won’s Bull Demon King, and she’s a supernatural character as well as the Jade … Continue reading →
It’s likely going to be from wifey to husband in award handing come year end at SBS studios. Lee Bo Young is confirmed to host the network’s 2017 Drama Awards along with veteran MC Shin Dong Yup, a year where MBC may not even hold its year end drama awards and drama ratings were even lower than usual across the … Continue reading →
Seeing the Yoo Ah In cameo in Descendants of the Sun last year had me an a-ha moment which helped me connection a similarity that was eluding me. I just realized that DotS cutie pie Kim Min Seok who plays gangster turned soldier recruit Ki Bum resembles Yoo Ah In, a rounder face for sure but the lips and aura are very … Continue reading →
There’s another wedding to gaze upon with plenty of finery and glamour coming out of Taipei. Taiwan acting stars Lene Lai and Nylon Chen, perpetually second leads in idol dramas but definitely the leads in their own personal lives with each other in finding a happily ever after. Lene donned two wedding dresses for the event, one with long lace … Continue reading →
Leave it up to K-ent to once again drama cast to my consternation, well maybe that’s too pessimistic but it’s to my concern for sure. The casting is set for the upcoming K-drama remake of hit J-dorama Rich Man, Poor Woman, not a recent work but still has a fond spot in my heart and relatively high name recognition among … Continue reading →
Oh man is this a casting coup from a nostalgia connection and from a suitability standpoint. The upcoming 2018 TW-drama remake of Meteor Garden has cast Xiao S in the drama, finally making her wish come true after she’s been pining for 17 years in not doing the original Meteor Garden which starred Xiao S’s older sister Barbie Hsu as … Continue reading →
I may differ in choosing the award winners for the 2017 Grimae Awards given by the Korean television producers association but I’m still happy for the recipients. Unfortunately the fashion spirit seems on the morose side with winners Ji Sung, Seo Hyun Jin and Key appearing to audition for the modern K-drama remake of Great Expectations. We have our new … Continue reading →
I feel like there is going to be a lot of fierceness coming for tvN drama Hwayugi (A Korean Odyssey), equal parts from both genders based on the first set of drama stills. There was fur coat bedecked Lee Seung Gi smirking as the Monkey King followed by circus barker metrosexual version of the Bull Demon King played by Cha … Continue reading →
Fall is heading towards a close but it’s not too late for a softly lit warm and cozy pictorial with K-actress Han Ji Min. This year she didn’t have a K-drama but she was in the news as potential female leads for multiple K-dramas all of which she eventually turned down including Suspicious Partner with Ji Chang Wook and the … Continue reading →
This one lasted for a year but oh what an underwhelming relationship it was to cover from a media standpoint. News reports coming out today are saying that K-stars Hyun Bin and Kang Sora have broken up, and their respective agencies followed swiftly with confirmation of the relationship end. They starting dating in late 2016 and while they weren’t necessarily … Continue reading →
