A typical drama casting offer turn down doesn’t usually merit a solo post but the combination big name star and big name screenwriter makes many K-drama fans eager to know the locked down casting. The Hong Sisters upcoming fantasy drama Hwayugi, a riff on one of the Chinese classics Journey to the West (Xi You Ji) has been courting Park … Continue reading →
Love is in the air and in this 2017 with so many K-ent couples tying the knot it’s nice to get an update from ones who have walked further down the path. Married couple Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young have been married since 2013 and are parents to a two year old daughter born in June of 2015. The … Continue reading →
One aspect of the Korean mandatory military service is the male bonding of all enlisted, with plenty of life long friendships formed through shared experiences. If that’s the case I’m rather sad that K-actor Kang Na Neul just confirmed his enlistment date for September 11th of this year, but he won’t be going with his recent movie costar Park Seo … Continue reading →
I’ve been behind on prime time K-dramas much less weekend dramas but I do miss having the time consistently keep up with a fun and warm hearted weekend drama. Casting is complete for the leads of upcoming SBS weekend drama called Bravo My Life, taking over for the time slot from Unni is Alive. I typically pick weekend dramas solely … Continue reading →
Smar There seems to be a mild surge in prison or prisoner K-dramas in the last two years, I recall Bad Guys and Defendant and now the Answer Me series PD Shin Won Ho is jumping into the fray with Wise Prison Life (Smart Prison Living). As the title suggests, the drama centers around the lives of the prisoners and … Continue reading →
I normally would tag any Kim Eun Sook drama a ratings sure thing, she’s never had a flop unlike many of her successful peers who toggle success and failure equally. Especially with her last two dramas Goblin and Descendants of the Sun runaway hits and still in the news constantly, it would seem her next drama Mr. Sunshine slated for … Continue reading →
Holy epic fail on the part of MBC with it’s latest Wed-Thurs offering The Man Who Dies to Live, a drama I wasn’t even planning on watching until the uproar over the first two episodes elevated interest. Now I still don’t want to watch it but for a different reason, the reason behind so much anger and offense taken by … Continue reading →
There may be a new standard in quality and quantity of star attendees to the VIP movie premiere of period war escape movie Battleship Island. I saw one of my faves Yoo Seung Ho trading his ruler period garb for comfy movie clothes to attend and clicking on the link turned up a smorgasbord Vegas feast of Korean stars going … Continue reading →
I’m so torn with this drama casting, and it’s torn because it’s so potentially good but only one guy can get the girl. The three leads are confirmed for upcoming Temperature of Love, with now confirmed leading lady Seo Hyun Jin going three-for-three in terms of picking a hit drama after her last two buzzy outings with Another Oh Hae … Continue reading →
There’s finally a positive in the generally dismaying results when K-dramas try to do a season 2 or even a sequel to milk a popular drama. The underrated and much loved KBS detective housewife drama from earlier this spring Mystery Queen (Queen of Mystery) has gotten the greenlight from the network to come back for a season 2 next year … Continue reading →
There are three distinct lives even for the god and goddess main leads of Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms, hence the beautiful novel title and the ethereal vibe of the entire story. The C-drama adaptation was a massive hit starring Yang Mi and Mark Chao, and in three weeks come the big screen movie version Once Upon … Continue reading →
Ha Ji Won has pulled off yet another transformation in a look I’m surprised to like. The short shoulder length bob with bangs in a soft wave feels a tad young for her, like what a high school or college kid would do for ease of getting ready, yet in the InStyle Korea pictorial the cut has been styled to … Continue reading →
I often hear stories of stars favoring one side view over another, some to the point of strict control and obsessive dislike of the other side. I’m sure if I stared intently on pictures of myself from every conceivable angle I can find nits with one side and favor the other, but then who has the time and the energy for … Continue reading →
