I really like K-actor Ji Hyun Woo and it’s strictly for his expansive performing talent. The musical actor underpinnings are an added bonus but as a K-drama leading man he’s delivered a spectrum of leading men types all to perfect degree whether it’s nebbishy beta male in Angry Mom or self-absorbed alpha jerk in Trot Lovers. The problem now is … Continue reading →
MBC is going dark when it comes to prepping for its late fall/early winter drama of the season. The network has slated Night Light for the Mon-Tues slot come November following Woman with a Suitcase. The title of Night Light has nothing to do with either insomnia or warding off ghosts, it’s instead symbolizing the lengths by which people seek power and … Continue reading →
I’m glad I watched MBC‘s Wed-Thurs world hopping drama W: Two Worlds all the way to the end, even if starting midway through it made increasingly little conceptual sense even within the context of a fantasy drama. Maybe the world building aspects in the beginning weren’t as solid as it appeared, or maybe the screenwriter got through the first big conflict … Continue reading →
Landing a perfectly suited character must be the dream of every single aspiring actor or actress, those with lesser ability need every ounce of luck. I don’t begrudge this synergy if the result is a fun drama to watch and such was the cast with recently finished tvN drama Let’s Fight Ghost. I loved it so much it’s not even … Continue reading →
The image of Yoona in tvN drama The K2 is bringing back so much deja vu feels from Yongpal, namely the visuals of Kim Tae Hee from that drama. It’s the long white hospital type gown, the flowing lustrous hair, the wan complexion looking dazed and confused, now I’m wondering if the screenwriter from Yongpal has some unknown complex for … Continue reading →
The summer blockbuster movie season has wrapped and Korean entertainment found worldwide glory with the hit zombie on trains thriller Train to Busan. Starting off the fall season an old school Western movie The Magnificent Seven which had an early one week premiere in Korea thanks to having Korean movie actor Lee Byung Hun in the cast. The movie brought … Continue reading →
This summer Ha Ji Won didn’t have a movie or drama to promote so she wasn’t out and about as much, but she did make time to attend the Miu Miu fashion event in Seoul at the flagship store. Being Prada‘s younger edgier sister brand, the label isn’t as suitable for Ha Ji Won as much as her wearing Prada’s … Continue reading →
Casting is filling out for jTBC‘s fully pre-produced drama Man to Man as the drama preps to start filming at the end of September. Park Hae Jin has long been confirmed as the leading man after coming off a complicated run in the popular tvN drama Cheese in the Trap, switching up one cable network for another. Park Hae Jin … Continue reading →
Judging by the just released drama posters for tvN political thriller The K2, there’s going to be darkness aplenty as four strong personalities get entangled in a South Korean presidential election cycle. That the drama posters are wholly unimaginative is almost beside the point if the allure is the acting and intense character conflict to come as ambition and personal lives … Continue reading →
The gentlemen of Chinese entertainment were out in collective stylish handsomeness this week for the 2016 GQ China Men of the Year Awards in Beijing. It was across the board old school well tailored tuxedo glamour for all attendees but one very bright exception, lol. Leading the way were two of China’s top leading men Hu Ge and Huang Xiaoming, … Continue reading →
It’s fantastic to see glorious red carpet fashion correctly arrayed, even better when it feels like there was a concerted effort made for synergy of sorts. This week is the start of the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) and in attendance were China’s top two movie actresses Fan Bing Bing and Zhang Zi Yi. The ladies walked their respective red carpets … Continue reading →
The cuteness continues to build for upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Shopping King Louie, a drama that didn’t land as leading man Yook Sung Jae but looks like it got an equally perfect casting with Seo In Guk. Both actors have their boyish charm that can get switched on for arrogance as needed, and in this role as the titular shopping … Continue reading →
The filming for upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama is heating up, or cooling down depending on the weather over in Spain as the two leads and the production team jetted off to Barcelona this weekend to film the overseas portion of fantasy drama Legend of the Blue Sea. Lee Min Ho and Jeon Ji Hyun were spotted at Incheon airport over … Continue reading →
