Now that Crystal Liu has moved on from C-dramas and is a bona fide movie star now, the role of most beautiful C-actress in period costume is up for grabs. In the running is definitely rising C-actress Gu Li Na Zha, who goes by just her name Na Zha now, shrinking it down even further since her full name in … Continue reading →
There’s news heating up TW-ent and it kinda makes sense – I was wondering what Puff Guo has been up to lately since it’s been so long since she’s popped up in the news feeds. She’s been a hot topic and commodity for the two years prior, doing popular SETTV dramas like Just You and Pleasantly Surprised, cross-border variety shows … Continue reading →
I feel like Taiwan spreads the wealth around more with its acting talent, I see a more diverse range of successful actors and actresses than in Korea for example. The Taiwanese entertainers also toggle different mediums more readily, be it singing and acting, or fashion designer and actress, and even book author and top movie director. At the opening of the … Continue reading →
When it rains it apparently pours Yoo Seung Ho, or at least it seems that way in the K-ent weather system. This past week dropped two sets of drama script reading stills both featuring Yoo Seung Ho, he’s the male lead in upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Remember, as well as the male lead in cable network MBC Every1‘s Imaginary Cat. … Continue reading →
I feel like the discussion over visuals can be such a potential landmine. Unless the approach is tongue-in-cheek, any attempts to fatten up or uglify drama leads inevitably leads to some sort of comment backlash. I’ll try hard not to offend anyone when I discuss the recently released new stills from upcoming KBS drama Oh My Venus that show a … Continue reading →
Recently premiered TW-drama Marry Me or Not hits the F-trifecta – fun, fabulous, and fascinating. I’ve watched episode 1 countless times already to soak in the details further and pass time until episode 2 arrives this Sunday. The reunion of leads Alice Ke and Roy Qiu from Office Girls doesn’t wait an ounce of their insane onscreen chemistry yet presents … Continue reading →
Park Shin Hye has been the spokesmodel for jewelry brand Agatha for some time now, and really all the pictures she takes for the ad campaigns have been lovely to behold. But the recently released teaser for the Fall/Winter 2015 campaign take it to a new level of pretty, and I’m trying to figure out what makes it so captivating … Continue reading →
I love when stars understand fan service, and then have a great sense of humor about it. The leads of upcoming C-movie Go Lala Go 2 (Tale of Du Lala’s Wedding Chase) attended a press conference this week in Beijing to promote the movie, which had its premiere date pushed back to December 4th to lead off the start of … Continue reading →
Whenever a K-actor or actress makes the news for looking different, it’s always hard to look away since news coverage usually means something drastic as opposed to the usual and widespread nip and tucks. Recently the spotlight is shining on supporting role K-actress Hong Soo Ah and rising model-turned-actor Lee Soo Hyuk. I’ll leave it for folks to make their … Continue reading →
The stars were out in full style (good, bad, and weird) at the 2015 Fashion Cosmo Gala in Shanghai this week. There were plenty of industry renowned fashion plates present such as idol Show Luo, just married Angelababy, model-actress Bea Hayden and her fellow Muse Dress costar Ying Er, and the surprise treat is edgy Korean fashion stars Gong Hyo Jin … Continue reading →
The first drama poster for Cheese in the Trap is an effortless breath of fresh air. Looking at it makes me feel cleansed, like so much manufactured connections and narrative tropes are washed away in the candid snap of leads Park Hae Jin and Kim Go Eun in a moment of drama production joy. The drama was followed closely during … Continue reading →
There’s a new latest and maybe not so greatest news about next year 2016’s K-drama Arbitrarily Fond. I have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes but this is one slippery eel in terms of locking down a time slot. Of course when it comes to K-dramas, stuff like casting, network, and time slot are all subject to constant … Continue reading →
Ji Chang Wook‘s entry into the Chinese entertainment market will be a one-two punch this November. He’s releasing an album this month followed by a multi-city tour, and while he’s at it he’ll also be filming an upcoming C-drama called My Male God. The drama news has been covered already but today comes the first official pictures from the production … Continue reading →
