It’s like the producers of upcoming fantasy sageuk movie Joseon Magician knew exactly which of my buttons to push when it comes to male lead Yoo Seung Ho. Stick in in a flowy long hair wig to bring back all the devastating memories from his sageuk turns in Warrior Baek Dong Soo and Arang and the Magistrate? Check. It’s like … Continue reading →
I’m a firm believer in beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I merely state my personal perspective but never deride or dismiss anyone who sees it otherwise. Frankly the very act of watching onscreen entertainment is that every viewer sees things in his or her own light. With that said, the just released Marie Claire Taiwan pictorial … Continue reading →
I like Kang Sora a lot, she’s got that triple threat combination of looks, acting ability, and relatable warmth. What she probably doesn’t have yet is that “it girl” hard to pinpoint quality that might propel a less acting talented actress like Suzy to the top but keeps Kang Sora from fully breaking out. But I think it’ll come in … Continue reading →
I think it’s clear that pregnant women run the same gamut as their non-pregnant brethren, i.e. comes in all shapes and sizes. With that said, pregnant stars almost always skew towards the doesn’t look pregnant at all end of the spectrum, glowing with only teeny tiny baby bumps and no excess weight added anywhere else but the belly. Six-month pregnant … Continue reading →
This drama doesn’t interest me all that much (yet), which of course can change if and when the cast gets filled out with one or more of my faves. For now it’s on my hhhhhhmmmmm list, which at least is better than being on my for sure skip list. Upcoming cable network jTBC may have  found its titular Madame Antoinette in … Continue reading →
The end of an era for the K-drama wave has arrived in one country that has been a huge consumer of Hallyu products for well over a decade- Japanese broadcaster NHK has announced that it won’t be airing anymore Korean dramas after the network finishes airing Empress Ki. NHK is Japan’s biggest and oldest network and has been airing K-dramas … Continue reading →
K-drama screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung has won me back to her good graces completely after It’s Okay, It’s Love, not that I ever grew fully disenchanted with her but IOIL did make me love her 100% again. Her few dramas before IOIL such as Padam Padam and That Winter, the Wind Blows were all too clinical for me, I never … Continue reading →
I’m sure tons of folks will be thrilled to hear this drama news – Goodbye Mr. Black has been officially revived! I never thought it was totally dead, that makes no sense when the drama has a writing-directing team already and finished casting the main leads. Whereas when drama projects like the shelved Shin Mina rom-com Let’s Have Dinner Together … Continue reading →
It’s certainly amusing that Yoo Seung Ho‘s first post-military project is the sageuk movie The Joseon Magician (see awesome first movie poster above – swoooooon), he’s clearly got some magical powers how else to explain this latest casting news. Apparently it’s not going to be SBS regular Lee Jong Seok in upcoming Wed-Thurs thriller drama Remember, but is instead going … Continue reading →
There’s an odd chemistry around real life couple Kim Woo Bin and Shin MIna, and it’s even more apparent when they do CFs together, like the recently released pictorial for casual wear brand Giordano. I don’t mean anything negative when I say odd, just that the vibe they get off is rather different than expected – while Kim Woo Bin … Continue reading →
Signs are piling on one after another that all point to one thing – Lee Jong Seok is likely coming back with the upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs thriller drama Remember. If it doesn’t pan out then it’ll be due to him turning down the offer, but drama insiders are all saying that he’s the one SBS is courting to headline the … Continue reading →
This Monday night October 12th is the premiere of Fuji TV J-dorama 5-ji kara 9-ji made (From Five to Nine), starring a full cast of well known Japanese acting stars who each can and have headline their own doramas. Ishihara Satomi is the English tutor modern female lead being set up on a matchmaking date with Yamashita Tomohisa‘s Shinto monk … Continue reading →
This is one match made in sweet heaven. Lee Min Ho recently became the spokesmodel for Italian chocolate brand Ferrero Rocher, of the round golden foil wrap fame that nearly everyone must recognize since the product is sold at every airport and gift shop around the world. I find the selection of Lee Min Ho to hawk the product a … Continue reading →
