I’ve was just catching up on banked episodes of Three Meals a Day this weekend, so hearing word that Lee Seo Jin is in talks for an upcoming K-drama is great news perfect serendipity. Lee Seo Jin has such a masculine aura and in the past played plenty of military roles like sageuk generals and commanders so this drama sounds right up … Continue reading →
The successful run of tvN drama Oh My Ghost wrapped up this past weekend and paves the way for upcoming Choi Ji Woo drama Second Time Twenty Years Old. I quite liked OMG a lot and hope for the same quality with this new drama. My big worry remains how the drama wants to tackle the romantic entanglements, to go … Continue reading →
Patience has paid off for all Moon Geun Young fans, she’s coming back with a drama and the choice is a promising one. Moon Geun Young is confirmed as the female lead of upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs corpse mystery drama The Village. The drama is from the screenwriter of Que Sera Sera and Can Love Become Money, while directing is SBS … Continue reading →
I would likely be freaking out a whole lot more if this news dropped when I was more into J-doramas, or happened years ago when there were still many ongoing epic dorama ships sailing. Alas time has moved everyone on, so now it’s with a happy heart that I welcome the news that popular J-actress Horikita Maki has tied the … Continue reading →
This latest dating news out of China is a nice bookend to the recent dating confirmation of popular young actor Hans Zhang with rising young actress Gu Li Na Zha. C-actress Zheng Shuang is reportedly dating Chinese rock singer Tiger Hu (Hu Yan Bin), with rumors swirling around them for months now but has heated up again as they were … Continue reading →
The kids are out and about for the child portion of upcoming MBC drama She Was Pretty (She Was Beautiful), with filming underway for a mid-September premiere. I might caution those viewers who chafe at broad stereotypes of looks to either consider this satire or put any strongly held beliefs in closet during the watch since it’s clear the drama will … Continue reading →
I wouldn’t be surprised if Rainie Yang will be one of the next top Taiwan stars to bid farewell to the single life. There have been so many weddings in the last year with Ariel Lin and Jay Chou and Sonia Sui, and not to mention babies following soon thereafter. Rainie graces the cover and pages of the August issue … Continue reading →
This is a project I’ve been expecting Korea to remake, and now the watch is on as rumors have started that popular Chinese novel Silent Separation will for sure be getting a K-drama adaptation. The Chinese market has already adapted to novel twice – the first time into the C-drama My Sunshine with Wallace Chung and Tang Yan, and subsequently … Continue reading →
As a drama viewer I would prefer to talk about the substance of the work, but the reality is that so much involving the production itself impacts the quality onscreen. If all the production budget goes to paying the two leads, where’s the money to spend on realistic set pieces and paying the rest of the cast to gamely do … Continue reading →
I freaking love this latest Hyun Bin pictorial for the outdoor wear brand K2, but I can also see why it may not be everyone’s cup of sexy tea. Binnie has been the face of this brand for multiple seasons now, but in the just released stills from the upcoming fall/winter 2015 pictorial, he’s going for the grizzled outdoorsman look … Continue reading →
I really appreciate the new fall ad campaign for menswear brand The Class, and not just because Kang Min Hyuk is in it with his CNBlue bandmates Lee Jung Shin, Jung Yong Hwa, and Lee Jong Hyun. Brand pictorials start with the premise of selling the underlying product, so having stars in the campaign is complementary or even subordinate to the … Continue reading →
Booyah! Like it not, Yongpal has pulled off the nearly impossible. Episode 5 this week broke 18% ratings nationwide AGB, and just now the ratings for episode 6 came out and hit 20.4% nationwide AGB. The last prime time drama to cross 20% nationwide AGB ratings this fast was You From Another Star by episode 4, and since then nothing … Continue reading →
I think Lee Jong Seok may have dodged a bullet here by passing on in development K-drama Beautiful Mind (formerly Dr. Frankenstein). Last week came the surprising news that Beautiful Mind/Dr. Frankenstein, the project that was being touted last year in late 2014 among the multiple personality glut of dramas, was still being shopped around and that red hot young actor Lee … Continue reading →
