The penultimate episode of Joseon Gunman does what it does best, with lots of fighting and bang bang to deliver a long awaited political coup to shake up the stale joint. King Gojong is such a spineless waste of space I can’t even muster up sympathy to see him brought so low, but at the same time he did always try … Continue reading →
Now that the Kim Hyun Joong domestic violence allegations are entering into the police sorting through statements and evidence phase, the news will likely ebb until its time for the police to make a recommendation to the prosecutor’s office and/or there is a settlement and the matter is resolved that way. This post will serve as a suitable capper for … Continue reading →
Lordy does this drama deliver the emotional smolder like no other. It’s just the right amount and coming towards leading lady Sang Hyo from both sides so she’s in a literal sexy men who adore sandwich. There are worse places to be and probably few better places around, especially since this episode 6 of My Secret Hotel has both leading … Continue reading →
With all the hullabaloo over the imminent arrival of Iron Man on KBS Wed-Thurs, a little bit lost in the buzz is this being the finale week of Joseon Gunman. I thoroughly enjoyed recapping such a solid drama, an endeavor that didn’t quite reach the liftoff in excitement or buzz that it could have. Still can’t quite pinpoint where the … Continue reading →
Covering K-dramas and some K-entertainment news leaves me at times feeling the negative outweighs the positive. Preventable accidents always leave me depressed at the unfairness of life and the unpredictability of things being fine one moment and then shockingly tragic the next. Earlier in the Summer A-list actress Gong Hyo Jin was involving in a serious car accident en route … Continue reading →
Hopefully this will quell the public furor for now and let the police do their job investigating. Kim Hyun Joong arrived at the police station on the evening of September 2nd to attend the investigative summons on his assault and battery case filed by his ex-girlfriend. The allegations were made over two weeks ago but his agency Keyeast reached an … Continue reading →
My Secret Hotel continues to fire on all cylinders and each episode leaves me pumped up for the next hit. More light is shed on Sang Hyo and Hae Young’s broken marriage and it becomes clear that heady passionate love still needs two very different people to work at communication and understanding. I continue to love them both more and … Continue reading →
I love dogs and I very much like Rain, so these new stills of the upcoming SBS drama My Lovely Girl (My Lovable Girl) are a good thing, yes? Too bad I still have major reservations about this drama, but at the same time the reservations don’t rise to the level of the bracing for an immediate impact stance that … Continue reading →
Not gonna lie, I kinda dig these posters of Iron Man…..if you take away with knives on male lead Lee Dong Wook. Taken as a non-supernatural romance melo between Lee Dong Wook and Shin Se Kyung, these official drama posters are actually decent. KBS likes to do saturated colors and expansive backdrops and the one with Lee Dong Wook sitting … Continue reading →
I have nothing against the upcoming MBC drama My Spring Days, and in fact quite like the leads Sooyoung of SNSD and Kam Woo Sung. Not to mention the return to acting of second male lead Lee Joon Hyuk who has been in the army for the last two years. I’m just mostly uninterested because MBC dramas by and large … Continue reading →
As Iron Man gets closer and closer to arriving on our collective cringing doorsteps, there is a part of me that wishes to be proven wrong. To have my first impression vacated for what turns out to be the surprise K-drama of the century in terms of awesome. I remember joking with other K-drama lovers years ago about the possibility … Continue reading →
I’m calling this a threesome or three-fer what with the third set of wedding pictures to drop within the span of two weeks for yet another celebrity cross-border couple. C-actress Qi Wei and her Korean-American actor hubby Lee Seung Hyun (Nathan Lee) made headlines last month when he surprised her on the island of Saipan with a very romantic beach … Continue reading →
Are K-dramas ready for incarcerated serial killers to be our new good guys? With this cast in the upcoming Bad Guys airing on OCN, the answer would be a resounding YES from me. Kim Joong Sang, recently seen in A New Leaf and Dr. Stranger, goes from being an ethically dubious lawyer and morally righteous doctor to putting on his … Continue reading →
