Like a case of the boy who cried wolf, I’ve said for a few dramas now that it would likely be Lee Jong Seok‘s last before enlisting. And then he goes and does another one, but I figure it’s because he hasn’t received his enlistment papers so why the heck not keep working. Lee Jong Seok will be back on … Continue reading →
Following behind the nominations for the Korean Drama Awards come the nominations for the 2018 APAN Star Awards which is on its 6th year now. It’s skewed towards the popular more than elite selection metrics but as always an interesting take on what dramas and actors/actresses are getting recognition in a drama year. The notable names up for the Daesang … Continue reading →
Just as I wrote about Lee Jong Seok likely to enlist in 2019 and may be going on military break with While You Were Sleeping as his last major K-drama (he has a short drama coming with Shin Hye Sun), he goes and gets himself positioned for another drama to come. This may be cutting it close considering that recently … Continue reading →
This is not my favorite hair look for Lee Jong Seok but it definitely confirms the trend started by Park Bo Gum earlier in 2018 that K-ent male stars are going longer and fuller. Lee Jong Seok was in Hawaii recently with BFF Kim Woo Bin for a much needed getaway but it was back to work as he held … Continue reading →
What happens when a beloved bastion of male visual perfection is tweaked to show us that even the worst hair fallacies cannot be overcome. C-ent is rolling in laughter over a recently released series of photoshops turning famous Korean and Chinese actors into bald comb over cringefests. I feel bad for men losing their hair but if that happens just … Continue reading →
The lifting of the China Hallyu ban may have or will soon happen as C-ent is reporting on some recent activity. Park Seo Joon attended a CF event in China and Chanyeol is scheduled to do one, whereas for the last two years there have been very few and far between media appearances by K-stars in China. Also on the … Continue reading →
Kisses and tears are two of the more memorable aspects of K-dramas because the early Hallyu dramas piled on romance and misery in equally measure to create the world of K-drama melodramas as we know it. Over the years the crying has gone from contrived parental disapproval and/or terminal illness to a plethora of reasons to milk those ducts dry. … Continue reading →
It’s not unusual for top actors and actresses of the same generation to breach their onscreen rivalry for the same roles to a offscreen real friendship. A few come to mind that includes Lee Jong Seok and Kim Woo Bin, that they each costarred with same generation top star Suzy in success dramas validates their position of vying for the … Continue reading →
There was a two-fer news featuring K-actor Lee Jong Seok to end the week, and both are actually connected. The K-media first reported that Lee Jong Seok was going to be the leading man in upcoming K-drama Younger, and then would enlist after that in February 2019. His side quickly debunked the rumor, saying that Younger was offered to Lee … Continue reading →
Apparently Lee Jong Seok and Kim Ji Won are still in discussions for upcoming romance K-drama See You Again, and maybe the production is tired of waiting hence the report today emphasizing the offers out to them and stating that script reading will be held this Saturday May 19th. The drama will be 100% pre-produced and air on Netflix, with … Continue reading →
Both of these young actors have come a long way since their sitcom days and may be reunited this year in an interesting drama project. Lee Jong Seok and Kim Ji Won have been offered the lead roles in the Netflix produced K-drama called See You Again. It’s described as a youth romance drama by the writer of Oh My … Continue reading →
I totally forgot that Shin Hye Sun was also a student in School 2013 which launched the careers of Lee Jong Seok and Kim Woo Bin, so this is a reunion for her to do the short drama Death Song (Hymn of Death) with Lee Jong Seok. It’s an added reunion as Lee Sang Yeob is also joining the cast … Continue reading →
This is quite a lucky coup for Lee Jong Seok when he agreed to do the 2-episode short drama Death Song (Hymn of Death) last week. He not only gets a solid leading lady in Shin Hye Sun, he gets someone coming off a red hot weekend drama My Golden Life and last month sat on top of the actor … Continue reading →
