With a movie titled The Witch Part 1: The Subversion, it’s already primed for a sequel so thankfully the movie was good and a sequel is coming. The Witch herself Kim Da Mi has seen her career since the first movie hit a new high this year with Itaewon Class so this movie now seems like an even bigger sure … Continue reading →
I have recommended plenty of K-dramas that started off well and fell apart, and sometimes so horribly it’s like falling off a cliff, getting revived only to be smashed to pieces again. It’s just the worst because you invest so much so the disappointment is magnified. This year’s most underrated drama is likely going to be MBC Mon-Tues thriller Kairos, … Continue reading →
This year’s big breakout male lead Lee Do Hyun had to share the limelight with veterans Kim Ha Neul and Yoon Sang Hyun, and hopefully he learned lots from them on top of his own excellent performance in 18 Again because he’s getting the solo top billing next year. Lee Do Hyun is confirmed for the summer 2021 KBS drama … Continue reading →
I’ll consider this one-two live action adaptation gift as a present for those celebrating Hanukkah and one for those celebrating Christmas. I was primed for the Netflix premiere of the live action drama adaptation of Korean webtoon Sweet Home that I totally missed a week earlier Netflix dropped the live action adaptation of Japanese manga Alice in Borderland. Kyaaaaaaa, and … Continue reading →
Sat-Sun K-drama Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) has settled into its rhythm and is exactly what South Korean viewers are looking for, with each episode ratings increasing and the most recent episode 4 breaking double digits with 10.447%. It’s feels like deja vu as tvN‘s last major hit in this same time slot Crash Landing on You premiered a year ago … Continue reading →
The Netflix original series Sweet Home premiered this weekend, adapted from the popular webtoon of the same name and packed full of big names and IT rising faces. The whole package looks so nicely assembled it would be a shame if this drama doesn’t end up being both cool and entertaining. Official confirmation came this week for early 2021 tvN drama One Day Destruction Came to My Door with the main cast of Park Bo Young, Seo In Guk, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kang Tae Oh, and Shin Do … Continue reading →
Being active on the internet sometimes makes one believe that information being shared and discussed online would have real life impact. But it’s just a vocal minority sounding louder than actually is and real life has its own reactive beats. tvN Sat-Sun drama Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) was quite the topic of conversation since it’s premiere a week ago, from … Continue reading →
K-actress Kim Yoo Jung started her acting career as a wee toddler girl and was immediately main star material, always playing the little version of the female lead and wowing audiences with her adorableness. Some child actors and actresses go through awkward teen phases or their adult visuals are not nearly as pleasing to the eye, that’s normal and life … Continue reading →
This article is literally the most obvious topic with zero surprise but it’s still nice to acknowledge the well-earned success of both talented actors. K-ent this week wrote an article on the “legendary level” of supporting male lead performances turned in by two actors in 2020: Kim Sun Ho in Start-Up and Ahn Bo Hyun in Kairos and Itaewon Class. … Continue reading →
Not all cameos and guest appearances are equal in creativity and memorability and this one ranks on the very top. Kim Hye Yoon and her second male lead Lee Jae Wook from the cult hit K-drama Extraordinary You paid a visit to their drama PD who is directing True Beauty and gifted him with a super meta scene to be … Continue reading →

His agency has confirmed that the actor has received an offer for the 2021 OCN drama Island, which earlier had announced the first two leads Seo Ye Ji and … Continue reading →
This selection feels like taking a cudgel to to tofu carving but it’s still entertaining to read about. Streaming platform TVing in South Korea is obviously benefiting from the migration from television to online consumption of entertainment programs so they do have a pulse of what’s good/popular from what viewers watch. Their own pick in 2020 for the best shows … Continue reading →
