Are you watching Sunny Happiness? If you are not, you’re missing out. This drama is well-acted, well-written, ably directed, and has a kick-ass soundtrack. I’m thisclose to saying to heck with it and recapping this sucker from start to finish. It’s that good. Though if I do it, someone needs to send me DL links so I can take screencaps (sigh, … Continue reading →
Who loves Sunny Happiness (幸福最晴天)? I love Sunny Happiness, that’s who! I’ve not been addicted to any drama since 2011 started, until I ran smack dab into a wall of unforeseen couple perfection that is Mike He and Janine Chang. Individually, I’ve liked neither actor (though I also don’t actively dislike them), but collectively, they are my new crack. I’ve … Continue reading →
Yesterday I posted about upcoming TW-dramas that are either in production or just wrapped. Someone asked about Sunshine Angel, and I purposely didn’t include SA in my post since the drama finished filming last year and has been on the shelf for months. Luckily, GTV recently announced that SA was picked it up for its late Spring broadcast, so expect … Continue reading →
I’m currently binging on a Taiwan drama (will post about it in a bit), so thought I might bring some news about upcoming 2011 TW-dramas in the works. First up, Park Shin Hye just wrapped principal filming on Hayate the Combat Butler, co-starring George Hu, and the drama is slated for broadcast on GTV in the Spring. After four months in … Continue reading →
Okay, I might have spoken too soon when I decreed that Four Brothers of Peking was my most anticipated C-drama of 2011. It still is, but now it has to share the throne with Bu Bu Jing Xin (步步惊心), the upcoming time-travel political intrigue romance C-drama, which is currently entering the tail end of its production. Expect to see it … Continue reading →
It’s been awhile since there has been any news about the ongoing filming of upcoming TW-drama Material Queen 拜金女王, starring Vanness Wu and Lynn Xiong (model-actress-girlfriend of Aaron Kwok). The production has been filming for the past four months, and may be getting a Spring air date on SETTV. It’s from the same writer-PD combo that brought 2009’s surprise hit … Continue reading →
Park Shin Hye is currently in Taiwan filming the GTV drama Hayate the Combat Butler with her co-star George Hu. The drama is an adaptation of a popular shonen manga, and has tentatively gotten an April 2011 air date. George plays a, what else, martial arts wielding butler to Park Shin Hye’s granddaughter of a chaebol. I’ve never read the … Continue reading →
I thought about topping the post with one of the pictures below, then I realized that with my readership having expanded beyond my band of beloved drama friends, I might want to self-censor for the young un’s. Channel X has been boldly telling the world that the undisputed king of Taiwan drama sex scenes, Joe Cheng (the TW-media really has dubbed … Continue reading →
Channel X with Joe Cheng and Amber Kuo is premiering in one week, and the production has released an hour-long special to whet the audiences’ appetite. After watching it, and reading the official plot synopsis – I am ravenous for this drama. Actually, after reading the first two sentences of the plot synopsis, my jaw hit the floor. I was … Continue reading →
Being back in Taiwan, albeit briefly, means that I am literally watching everything real time. Zhong Wu Yen is ending with a whimper this weekend, and all eyes on are Joe Cheng and Amber Kuo to see if their Channel X can turn things around for SETTV. The drama released its official poster, and I like it overall even if … Continue reading →
Xiang Qin-ah! Hurry, your Zhi Shu is making out with other girls! *Giggles, I’m so silly* To prepare for his role as a news anchor in the upcoming TW-drama Channel X, lead actor Joe Cheng went to SETTV to consult with its lead anchor on some tips, hence the picture above. He’s definitely stiff enough to lead off the 6 … Continue reading →
At the least the Taiwanese awards shows these past few years are consistent – consistently making my jaw drop. I think this has been trending since Mark Chao won the Best Actor award to the Golden Bell Awards in 2009 over co-star Vic Zhou. Followed by Rainie Yang winning best actress in the same drama awards in 2010. And now they both … Continue reading →
Vic Zhou (Zai Zai) is deep in the filming for the upcoming epic war C-drama Coming Home, and I have a quick update on the filming. From the spoiler pictures, it looks like Zai Zai’s character will not only be an army medic, he will actually be involved in combat. As long as he doesn’t lose an arm, a leg, … Continue reading →
