The upcoming C-drama Bu Bu Jin Xin 步步惊心 (English translation being Every Step is Fraught With Anxiety) is about to wrap up its filming in the next few days, with most of the cast members having already completed all their scenes. The drama looks to premiere in the Summer, and the production company has just released two official MVs to go … Continue reading →
Taiwan’s GTV is on a bender this year with a slew of high profile projects, including Extravagant Challenge and Hayate the Combat Butler. The former is in pre-production, and the latter is done with filming and in post-production. Mike He and Cyndi Wang’s upcoming GTV baking and music drama Mei Le, Go also completed filming this week and joins Hayate … Continue reading →
I really don’t know what’s going on with Wu Zun and Fahrenheit (with conflicting reports left and right as to whether he’s left the group or not), but I do know for a fact that he’ll be back on the small screen on May 22, 2011 on CTV! His long-completed Sunshine Angel with Rainie Yang has snagged the coveted post-Sunny … Continue reading →
I love Weibo. Weibo is my friend, because it brings me goodies galore. Y’all know I love Zai Zai (Vic Zhou), and his upcoming drama Coming Home is one of my most anticipated dramas of the year. Filming was completed last month, and the drama has headed into post-production. It’s a China-Taiwan collaboration, and I haven’t heard any definitive airdates from either … Continue reading →
Hold on to your knickers, Sunny Happiness fans! Remember how I discussed that SH has two broadcast versions, the China version (45 minutes an episode at 25 episodes total, which is done with its run), and the Taiwan version (1 hour an episode at 16 episodes total, currently aired only 4 episodes). Well, the production of Down With Love also … Continue reading →
The upcoming Drunken to Love You, the highly anticipated TW-drama followup to the record breakingly popular Fated to Love You, just secured its air date, yet it’s barely begun filming. DTLY will premiere in April on SETTV, following the currently airing Channel X (please will some kind soul put my poor Joe Cheng and adorable Amber Kuo out of their misery). The … Continue reading →
My current drama addiction Sunny Happiness has brought a wave of fresh air to the small screen. I think the drama even has a good influence on its two lead actors, as Janine Chang and Mike He went to Singapore last month in February to promote SH looking cheerful and well-rested. They both look so energetic and gorgeous! Mike’s new … Continue reading →
After I did the post on the leading men of Taiwan entertainment (here), it’s only fitting I devote the same attention to showcasing the leading ladies who spark and sizzle with those guys. To be frank, my personal opinion is that the number of good actresses in Taiwan is significantly lower than the number of good actors. But I’ve watched … Continue reading →
I am the Sunny Happiness fairy, oh yes I am. Now that you’ve all got the download links for the episodes, now it’s time for some musical accompaniment. I love the OST for SH, and I’ve got all the songs ready for you to enjoy.
Continue reading →When a project gets lodged in development hell, months and years go by without any updates. If by the grace of drama gods it gets resurrected, suddenly the flood gates burst and everything shifts into power gear. The TW-drama adaptation of the popular manga Skip Beat, which has been languishing for 2 years (and multiple lead actor changes), has finally gotten … Continue reading →
Fess up. Who is a Sunny Happiness addict? Plenty of you have outed yourselves already in various SH posts, but here is your chance to meet fellow addicts. As a treatment plan, I’m bringing the much requested download links for SH episodes. The links for the first 3 episodes are for the TW-airing, and the links for the rest are for the … Continue reading →
With AKP fully branching out from K-dramas to TW-dramas in recent weeks, culminating in my decision to recap Sunny Happiness, I think it’s fitting to devote a post to a collection of Taiwan actors who breathe life into dramas and movies from that region of the world. I’ll be giving my personal impressions of these actors, as well as a … Continue reading →
Upcoming Qing Dynasty time-travel and palace intrigue C-drama Bu Bu Jing Xin (步步惊心) held a media event this week to introduce its first trailer (and likely as a head-toss to its rival Jade Palace Lock Heart, which is ending its broadcast this week). I checked out JPLH when it first aired, and its not to my liking, so I’ll remain … Continue reading →
