Acclaimed C-director Li Shao Hong‘s planned C-adaptation of the popular K-drama Heirs has been getting lots of attention in the last two months and for good reason. Heirs was hella popular in China and continued to build Lee Min Ho‘s popularity as well as vaulted Kim Woo Bin from unknown in the Chinese market to suddenly a buzzy new face. … Continue reading →
I had promised to bring some popular Taiwan drama OST downloads and time and memory got away from me but late is better than never. Here’s the promised post with the official full length release of the theme and ending songs for SETTV‘s two popular Friday night dramas – the just finished Just You and the currently airing In A … Continue reading →
It’s no question Lee Min Ho had a really really good 2013 with Heirs boosting his popularity all over Asia once again. It didn’t even matter that the drama was mostly terrible and his character was primarily unpalatable, viewers slurped it up and asked for more. Lee Min Ho gave an interview a few weeks ago that I’ve finally gotten around … Continue reading →
Even with the hint of makjang in Prime Minister and I with the reveal that the male lead’s first wife isn’t deader than a doornail like we all thought, I’m still ridiculously pleased with this drama. It’s just my kind of rom-com with funny that doesn’t overstay its welcome, romance that unfolds naturally without too much quippy banter, and a … Continue reading →
It’s not a stretch to say SETTV had the best outing among all the TW-networks in terms of raking in the dough from dramas in 2013. With Lunar New Year right around the corner, the network held it’s annual Year End Party (尾牙) this past Friday that brought together 1600 of its employees from corporate to production to famous stars … Continue reading →
Park Hae Jin will go from a devoted love-sick swain in You From Another Star to a genius doctor with a secret? I dig that, and he totally deserves the upgrade. I’m thoroughly enjoying Park Hae Jin’s supporting turn in YFAS playing Lee Hwi Kyung, the man-child who has a one-track Cheon Song Yi type of mind, though truth be told … Continue reading →
More than the other networks, it’s KBS that loves to give its dramas titles that are not literal translations of the Korean title. Recent ones include Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice), The Fugitive of Joseon (Mandate of Heaven), Bel Ami (Pretty Boy), The Innocent Man (Nice Guy) et. al. It’s doing it again for the upcoming Mon-Tues melodrama … Continue reading →
Since wrapping Heirs last December Lee Min Ho has been nothing but busy dabbling with other activities in his entertainment career. Last week he held an encore concert in Seoul for his Korean fans, and by encore I mean it’s a continuation of his concert tour last May when he released his first mini-album. I actually thought some of his … Continue reading →
The bad news is that next week’s episode 12 is preempted for a Lunar New Year special of In A Good Way, but the good news is that episode 11 didn’t end on an angsty cliffhanger moment. Episode 11 was shorter in length clearly to draw out the protest conflict and save the great cameo-laden campus concert for the next … Continue reading →
First comes marriage then comes baby, or in the case of the just married stars Yang Mi and Hawick Lau it might’ve been the other way around. The high profile celebrity couple tied the knot last week in Bali with a small tight knit group of family and friends, but the C-media has been abuzz since their engagement was announced … Continue reading →
A few housekeeping items about In A Good Way first before getting to the good stuff about the upcoming episode 11. Next Friday’s episode 12 will be preempted for Lunar New Year so the network is airing a special instead and episode 12 will air the following week on February 7th. Let’s hope episode 11 doesn’t end on a raging … Continue reading →
It’s a good day to wake up by spotting some pictures I missed from the December 2013 issue of L’Officiel Hommes China featuring one of the hottest rising male C-actors around. Chen Xiao is currently filming the Yu Zheng-produced version of Return of the Condor Heroes, and it’s a Herculean feat indeed to actually make this gorgeous man wholly unattractive … Continue reading →
I’m pulling out the big guns for my Miss Korea recaps. Yeah, that is totally a spoiler kiss still above from episode 12, but in my defense MBC released it last night so it’s been out there already teasing us with the hotness to come. I also think in whatever way I can lure viewers to this exquisite drama then … Continue reading →
