You guys want to watch Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon? I normally don’t post full movie links here but this will be an exception because I haven’t had so much fun watching a popcorn period C-movie in ages. Plus the eye candy! This Sherlock Holmes-meets-fantasy-Tang-dynasty blast has four hot and young leading men currently all the rage in many … Continue reading →
I’m already ridiculously excited and primed for Marry Him If You Dare but the just released 3rd teaser trailer has me salivating and rubbing my hands with glee. Chemistry exploding everywhere with all the leads, time-traveling marriage-altering shenanigans from future Mi Rae, and lots of skinship from the get go. Korea’s recent spate of time-traveling dramas last year were a … Continue reading →
If I ever saw Gong Yoo in person, I would probably stare slack-jawed. He’s just such a man’s man with his height and physique, but with a boyish charm when he flashes a brilliant smile that completely undercuts the machismo. It’s been over a year since I’ve seen Gong Yoo onscreen, but it doesn’t feel that long because I still … Continue reading →
You know that existential crisis moment when you’re reading a book and land on a sentence and find yourself reading it over and over again because suddenly words don’t compute? That is usually a signal to put that book down and take a break because the synapses are momentarily overloaded. I worried that moment was barreling towards me with respect … Continue reading →
Yoon Eun Hye is the cutest cutest girl thing ever in these latest stills for Marry Him If You Dare. I want her to never go the way of many of her actress counterparts with the botox and the perfect teeth veneers and the jaw shaving and the lip enlargements and the cheek implants. I want her to stay perfectly … Continue reading →
Oh heck yeah! Just as I was ready to put all the Heirs or The Inheritors promotional materials behind me as generally a big ole disappointment (with only 1 or 2 standout stills and teaser), the drama upped and surprised me today. I don’t know if the brain trust at SBS was saving the best for last or finally got their act … Continue reading →
To say I’m shocked is an understatement, but its more like I’m wondering what magic sauce was in this J-dorama to create these results. A workplace dorama premiered earlier in the Summer that totally flew under my interest radar as those types always do. Hanzawa Naoki starring the currently on career fire Sakai Masato in a drama about banking turned … Continue reading →
It’s so close I can actually smell it now. The scent of various fangirl groups converging on one drama that brings all their favorites together under one roof. One ring to rule them all? I say one K-drama to rule them all, until of course the drama turns out to be sorely lacking and then watch the finger-pointing histrionics start. … Continue reading →
It’s Fall which means time for the annual J-dorama homage to the Crown Prince that is Kimura Takuya. I’ve been meh with all his recent year doramas from Priceless to Nankyoku Tairiku to Tsuki no Koibito, but there is no telling when KimuTaku may pull a rabbit out of the hat so it’s always with a hopeful heart I await … Continue reading →
There is finally something easy on the eyes coming out of the set of the upcoming nth drama version of the wuxia novel Return of the Condor Heroes. While C-actress Zhao Li Ying’s name was never mentioned as in the running to play the leading lady Xiaolongnu, seeing her in costume on the set of RoCH makes me wish she … Continue reading →
Goddess of Fire is like the negative version of the gift that keeps on giving, it’s literally like getting the worst case of food poisoning causing the runs that never stop even when you think this the last time and it can’t possibly plague you anymore. See, I made another crap joke, so this drama continues to inspire me to … Continue reading →
KBS dropped a lot of new stills for Marry Him If You Dare heading into the weekend which makes for a nice treat to tide the fans through until next week. That’s when the heavy load of promotional material will likely drop since it’s the week prior to its premiere on October 14th. Some of these official stills won’t come … Continue reading →
It’s pretty easy to figure out which K-dramas I’m interested in or excited about but there are lots more K-drama fishes in the pond then the ones I care to cover. For companies worldwide the fourth and final quarter of the year has started and it’s time to put the pedal to the metal and bring home the win. For … Continue reading →
