The upcoming cable drama Unemployed Romance (literal title Unemployment Benefits Romance) is one of those odd ducks for me. I love Nam Goong Min almost as much as I am adverse to Lee Young Ah. I’ll confess that I never warmed up to Lee Young Ah because she’s always been rather OTT in acting and I found her singularly plain. … Continue reading →
LOL, these four are such adorable hams. There is a new dating news coming out from the popular Taiwan idol drama Just You (Just Want to Make You Fall in Love with Me), but it’s not the two people that you might be hoping for. The drama has been slowly gaining viewers and popularity as it airs, a rare beast … Continue reading →
The countdown to the premiere of Heirs or The Inheritors has gone from months to weeks and now to mere days. Despite the even-larger-than-usual sprawling cast, this drama is still anchored by the two leads Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye if I look at the overwhelming number of official stills released of both of them individually or together. … Continue reading →
The 18th annual Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) kicked off yesterday in the seaside town of Busan, South Korea with lots of glam and anticipation. Featuring 301 movie selections from 70 countries shown over 10 days, BIFF has cemented its reputation as one of the top film festivals in Asia and this year’s star studded opening ceremony brought lots of … Continue reading →
Every time Song Seung Heon wants to “branch out”, he inevitably ends up making me laugh unintentionally but always coming out unscathed. When one’s acting ability is already universally acknowledged as nonexistent, then it really is cool that people can still enjoy him for the pretty. Recently he’s been a time-traveling doctor, a gangster in love, a princess-loving diplomat chaebol … Continue reading →
This week is simultaneously a very slow week in K-dramaland since there isn’t a new drama premiering, but also a very anxious week for the fans of The Master’s Sun which is wrapping up in mere hours. Two Weeks ended last week on MBC so its follow up drama the geniuses-in-one-hospital medical drama Medical Top Team was slated to premiere … Continue reading →
The Wu Zun not-so-shocking news reveals enters its second day in Taiwan as he held a press conference for the release of his new self-help book and promptly revealed he was about to be a dad again any day now. Like, for realz. His wife is expecting baby number 2 in days, this time a bouncing little baby boy mini-me … Continue reading →
The release of the third preview teaser for Heirs or The Inheritors helps us take a break from the overload of character stills from the drama. This is the most substantive teaser to date and really showcases what to expect. The possibility that Heirs would be a hot mess was bandied about mostly because of how derivative the set up … Continue reading →
Wouldn’t Kang Min Hyuk look adorable in a Superman costume? I only suggest this because from the look of things in Heirs, he might have just come to the rescue of a highly anticipated K-drama that has been releasing a succession of pretty on picture but dead with emotion stills. The first pictures are out of Kang Min Hyuk and … Continue reading →
Marry Him If You Dare is right on time with today’s promotional material drop. When I heard Jung Yong Hwa was the grandson of the the network station president, I thought his grandparent would have been some gruff haraboji so it’s with a pleasant surprise to discover that his character Park Se Joo has a halmoni who dotes on him. … Continue reading →
For folks who’ve been chilling at my blog for years now, or at least since 2011, this will come as no surprise for you since I wrote an entire post about it when the widely known rumor was first reported in the TW-news. But for others new to TW-ent or have been living under a rock, this will obviously be … Continue reading →
We’re T-minus 7 full days before the premiere of the highly anticipated Heirs or The Inheritors, and I am finally reaching saturation point. I know plenty of folks have long been tired from the endless casting, preparation, production, and now promotion of this drama, but strangely I hadn’t been until now. Who knows why the switched flipped but I kinda … Continue reading →
I can’t believe Marry Him If You Dare went there. Or that it could find a way to go there. Where, might you be asking? It’s not quite “to boldly go where no man has gone before” (wrong franchise), but it managed to mash together the hotness personified that is Lee Dong Gun with geek chic by putting him in a … Continue reading →
