I was wondering if I should do this post next month but I know I’ll get too busy with year end work crunch plus the holiday prep not to mention this year I’m traveling again back to Asia the last two weeks of December. It’s better to start now and I’m sure this will be fun for everyone. I always … Continue reading →
Never fear, I haven’t quietly dropped Miss Rose! I’m just woefully behind on recapping and I need to spank myself to get back on track. Sorry to those few fans of this drama who love it as much as I do. The TW-dramas that tend to get more love are the ones that are closest to K-dramas in terms of … Continue reading →
With the 2012 Summer J-dorama season wrapped up nicely for me, I had one great obsession in Rich Man, Poor Woman among the lot of offerings so its nice to see it getting some additional recognition. The ratings were just alright and it didn’t seem to generate a lot of buzz in Japan when it aired. For the 74th annual … Continue reading →
I know I’m totally Yoo Seung Ho-bombing the playground here, which you can either chalk up to momentary madness or the honest truth that the boy is beyond winning in his role as Kang Hyung Joon in Missing You. As usual, ignore me if this isn’t your thing, all my obsessions wane eventually. During yesterday’s episode 6 of MY, both … Continue reading →
Now that the adult actors have arrived, the ratings for Missing You keep rocketing upward likely due to the combination of super weak competition (The Great Seer is a complete failure and Jeon Woo Chi has started off awkward and not very coherent) and a solid one-two-three acting punch in popular young actors Yoochun, Yoon Eun Hye, and Yoo Seung Ho (heh, … Continue reading →
Much as I want to park myself in front of the computer to recap Missing You episode 6, at least the Soo Yeon-Hyung Joon scenes, I’ve got a giant turkey to wrangle and a bajillion delicious side dishes to conjure up. I wish I had a magic wand. Or minions. Either will do. So I’ll have to see what I … Continue reading →
I was all looking forward to Lee Seung Gi‘s return to dramaland early next year with his fantasy sageuk when the boy up and snuck a mini-album drop on me this week. Sometimes it’s so refreshing to be pleasantly surprised, and to say the song and MV for Seung Gi’s first single off the mini-album is simply pleasant is an … Continue reading →
It’s saying something that I put the poster for Chen Qiao En’s character from the upcoming Yu Zheng drama adaptation of the novel Xiao Ao Jiang Hu (Smiling Proud Wanderer) to top this post. After wrapping filming during the Summer, the official posters and first trailer is out for The Swordsman starring Wallace Huo as Linghu Chong, Yuan Shan Shan … Continue reading →
I was all set to recap only my beloved Hyung Joon-Soo Yeon scenes from Missing You and then habit kicked in and before I realized it I recapped all of episode 5. Oopsie. I wish I only watched the scenes I wanted because watching everything else continues to highlight for me how utterly hackneyed the writing is. The moment the … Continue reading →
When was the last time you saw a really creative magazine photo spread? I’m quite easy to please when it comes to actors I like doing fashion stills since their natural gorgeousness goes a long way to compensate for the “stand there and look at the camera” uniformity evident in pictures. Recently Nicky Wu (aka 4th Prince) did a fantastically … Continue reading →
Okay, it’s official. Until this drama becomes as dumb as May Queen (and I pray to god it doesn’t because that drama blows so hard whales respond to its call of suckitude), from here on out I will be recapping all Hyung Joon-Soo Yeon scenes from Missing You. Normally I would recap the entire drama since I do love Yoon … Continue reading →
He hasn’t even made an appearance yet in the drama but each new still of Yoo Seung Ho in Missing You is sending me into ever higher fits of incoherency. He. Is. So. Gorgeous. Korea should be prohibited from sending him out to lure all the noonas to the yard because then we would be forced to out ourselves as … Continue reading →
So cute! So so cute! How can a random stabbing scene shoved into an otherwise brilliantly scripted drama not totally ruin the flow, and then once we see the BTS pictures, actually make me appreciate it more? With Nice Guy over and done with, I’m actually quite mellow about it ending and don’t have that rabid feeling of loss and … Continue reading →
