Ahhhh, the world might not be ready for sageuk Lee Min Ho. I imagine fursploding panties everywhere as his fangirls collectively…..faint over his warrior ways sporting a mane of glory, all-black armor, and wielding a mighty sword. It’s weird but I kinda wish Faith was a straight up sageuk rather than a time-travel one, not only because its so passe … Continue reading →
If I wasn’t already rabid for Big, this episode would have turned the switch for me. It’s the one where all the first deeper stirrings of emotional connection between the OTP is triggered, where you see that they genuinely care about each other’s well being. What always sells a couple for me is when they care about how the other … Continue reading →
Chun Jung Myung and Ivy Chen could quite possibly be the two cutest actors in their respective industries, so seeing them embracing pretty much exponentially explodes the adorableness factor until all I see is a puppy cuddling with a kitten. The filming continues on the C-drama The Family, which is actually directed by Korean PD Choi Yoon Seok (Glass Slippers), and … Continue reading →
One thing that’s hard for me when watching Big is that I miss chibi-Kyung Joon so much. Shin Won Ho may not have one-tenth the acting prowess of Gong Yoo, who is nailing it as Kyung Jae, but I loved his posturing bickering with Da Ran. At this rate, I’m going to have an internal shipping battle between Kyung Joon … Continue reading →
Squeeee to the max! Episode 3 of Big was good, great, and stupendous all wrapped into one. I love this drama so much its embarrassing to acknowledge. I’m on a business trip so this recap will be short on thoughts but its really hard for me to stop myself from writing about this drama. I love how Kyung Jae and … Continue reading →
I think my most anticipated period C-drama this year is definitely King of Lan Ling with Feng Shao Feng and Ariel Lin. I like frothy romance driven period fare, and this one looks pretty epic. Plus the King of Lan Ling hasn’t been brought to the screen often so it’ll be a refreshing story for me. After reading and translating … Continue reading →
Yipppeeeee! I knew birthdays and anniversaries have always been good to me. This past week SETTV started filming its upcoming idol drama to follow Love Forward on Sundays starting in August. All the rumors turned out to be spot on, as the leading man will indeed be Roy Qiu, returning to the network that has launched and propelled his Taiwan … Continue reading →
OMG hyperventilating here. I’m on a plane (last minute business trip this time, sigh) and when these stills flashed across the K-news sources, I literally yelped out loud. Rather like Da Ran did on the bus, but sadly there was no Kyung Joon around to look at me smoldery and smirky. I didn’t win a pressure cooker, but I feel … Continue reading →
Summer is right around the corner, but the drama planning chugs along towards the Fall season already. MBC, always known for its epic (long) dramas, is turning back to its behemoth success of the 60+ episode Queen Seon Deok (also known as Queen Snore Deok around here) and the 50+ episode Dong Yi and preparing for another 60 episode sageuk. … Continue reading →
At this point, I have watched the first two episodes of Big so many times I’ve lost count. Best part is that this drama gets better and better on rewatch. The problems are there, but the story rises to the forefront and smooths over the rough edges. I’m loving the fact that there are so many unknowns to figure out … Continue reading →
Oh The King 2 Hearts, I miss you so much! I try to move on, and other dramas will engage my interest, but you’ve managed to worm your way into a corner of my heart forever. I imagine Hang Ah and Jae Ha somewhere being all happy and fearless together. At Lee Seung Gi‘s Budokan concert last week, he sang … Continue reading →
Oh Zai Zai, wai so gorgeous? Vic Zhou‘s had a weird last few months in terms of total random scandals. The tabloids had him secretly married to Bowie Tsang (HK actor Eric Tsang‘s daughter), then secretly dating his Black & White co-star Reen Yu. Both were just so random, and Zai Zai clarified it was all not true when he … Continue reading →
If you’ve read Da Mo Yao along with me, then you should all know exactly where this scene is from in the book. Can I just say a “oh hells yeah”, and then give the poor long-suffering GeShi shippers out there a tissue so they can weep tears of joy. The filming for Da Mo Yao continues to chug along, … Continue reading →
