It was epiphany time for Zi Qi at the end of episode 10 of Office Girls. Will Xing Ren follow suit in episode 11 and then we can spend the rest of the drama with them playing house? Eating pasta with broccoli, and finishing up with some almond tofu. 😛 Man, this drama is turning me into Stallone with all … Continue reading →
There are very few TW-dramas set to premiere between now and the end of the year, so clearly it’s time to start looking towards 2012 to see what might be in store. SETTV just announced that it’s started filming on a new drama tentatively called True Love Asks for Trouble (真愛找麻煩). Starring will be Chris Wang (of The Fierce Wife … Continue reading →
Episode 6 of Man of Honor was like opening of prize box of delicious K-drama treats. More entanglements are revealed between characters while the baseball motif is put on the backburner as the characters turn to the corporate world to settle their claims and make their marks. The drama remains delightfully charming in parts while tension-laden in others, but balancing … Continue reading →
Can someone explain this drama to me? After watching the teaser trailer for Me Too, Flower, I find myself perplexed. Genuinely stunned by what I have seen, in a “OMG that looks godawful” sort of way, but then bearing in mind that this drama is written by the dude who did the great My Name is Kim Sam Soon and the … Continue reading →
So I noticed Weibo going insane today with Bu Bu Jing Xin chatter, and I figured it was because of the recent Sohu Television Awards celebrating Chinese television’s hits for the recent Fall season. Turns out some of it was that, but mostly because Tangren‘s ladyboss said during the awards ceremony that the company was planning a sequel to BBJX!?! … Continue reading →
What did I say about You’re My Pet being an unrelenting and incessant barrage of promotional materials? At least this time we’re getting some pretty good stuff, with the release of the official MV from the OST song sung by leads Jang Geun Seok and Kim Ha Neul. I think it’s sweet they are singing the OST song, but I … Continue reading →
There is this strange and odd person who repeatedly insists that I change the title of my recaps from Man of Honor to Glory Jane, claiming that is the official English title. Setting aside the fact that the majority of the English blogosphere has been using MoH instead of GJ, plus this is my blog and I can call it … Continue reading →
One of the most unintentionally funny fashion spreads last year was the “Into the Battlefield” concept collection for Nuovo Down, featuring Chun Jung Myung, Lee Seon Kyun, Lee Jung Jin, and Jang Geun Seok looking really really dirty. But still very pretty. The company must love that particular concept because this year we get “Into the Battlefield II”, a redux … Continue reading →
I’m of two minds when it comes to the upcoming tvN drama Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. On one hand it seems so…..young, yet when has that ever stopped me. On the other hand it seems so……potentially silly. That usually does stop me. So I’m hoping the drama ends up being young and grounded, taking a trendy concept and making it … Continue reading →
Oh Golden Bells, I blame this whole debacle on you and your non-transparent, toady, and nepotistic voting shenanigans. Newly crowned Best Actor winner Wilbur Pan, who missed the awards ceremony due to a prior engagement in China he didn’t reschedule because he figured hell would freeze over before he would win, returned to Taiwan today and held a celebratory press … Continue reading →
So Stallone has officially turned quad-lingual on me in episode 10 of Office Girls, forcing me to use of four languages just to fully appreciate his snerk. The man drops Mandarin, English, Taiwanese, and now even Japanese into his dialogue seamlessly, killing me each time with his delivery and intonation. OG continues to move along nicely, taking its time to … Continue reading →
It’s totally my fault for not talking more about In Time With You, which is shaping up to be the best drama out of Taiwan in years. I don’t think it’s presumptuous for me to bet on Ariel Lin getting a return nomination for the Golden Bell Awards next year, as well as the drama getting lot of love. Ratings continues … Continue reading →
Jang Geun Seok and Kim Ha Neul’s upcoming rom-com You’re My Pet is premiering in Korean in a few weeks, but I feel like the movie has been filming forever and the stars have been promoting it for equally as long. I was never interested in the manga premise, and add to that a consistent diet of YMP news, it … Continue reading →
