So a bank and a soju brand separately have CF contracts expiring with K-actress Han So Hee right now and both have said it will not renew with her and are looking for a new star to rep the brand. This is not a contract cancellation so for now it does not appear that Han So Hee is being actively … Continue reading →
So the first three months of 2024 in C-drama land felt like it was the opening act of a major concert, good but nowhere near the explosive engagement that a top level star can bring. So many C-dramas with some even big budget A level but nothing to bring out the expansive viewership, buzz, and online chatter that past major … Continue reading →
So……uhm…… it’s totally fine thirsting after Kim Soo Hyun now that he is 36 years old. Right? Right! I mean, this boy-man-hottie has been gracing us with his K-ent presence for close to 20 years now and it’s really that he rose meteorically at the early part of his career that he gets saddled with the boyish image. That, and … Continue reading →
C-actress Bai Lu continues her drama-to-drama filming streak, I genuinely don’t remember seeing her take any time off. She just wrapped Moonlight Mystique and next month will start filming the period C-drama Heng Men You Hou (衡门有狐 There is a Fox in Hengmen). Her male lead is Zeng Shun Xi (Joseph Zeng) who has grown on me, I still am … Continue reading →
Jeon Jong Seo is already a top actress in South Korea with plenty of movie hits and accolades so she doesn’t need to chase publicity intentionally but she certainly got it this past weekend. The actress threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the sold out Dodgers exhibition game in Seoul and became the talk of the game over the … Continue reading →
Well I’m certainly happy with this casting lol. A new C-drama will start filming next month in April and the leads are Jing Tian and Alen Fang (Fang Yi Lun) adapted from the novel The Brocaded Tale of The Girl Si (似锦 Si Jin). Jing Tian drops chemistry with every one of her male leads and I’m so thankful Alen’s … Continue reading →
So I don’t know if this is really happening but he did say it publicly and if its true then it’s a loss for C-ent. C-actor Xu Zheng Xi (Jeremy Tsui) posted on his Weibo a message saying farewell to his spot as an actor, thanking fans for their longtime support, and apologizing for creating any trouble. If he is … Continue reading →
I don’t know why Hyeri needs to issue an apology or anything at all, girl has done nothing wrong. But in K-ent she probably feels pressure for having causing scrutiny on the situation, i.e. creating a scene so to speak. She issued an apology today for creating a situation from her Instagram post after rumors of Ryu Jun Yeol and … Continue reading →
This is one case where Dispatch got PWNED by a Japanese tourist lol. The tabloid was clearly in Hawaii and staking out Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol, enough to get these clear and pretty close-up shots of the two that are hard to deny they definitely spent time together there. But before these pictures could be released a … Continue reading →
So watching the Queen of Tears is like reading a brilliantly paced novel where the story is good but the way it’s being told is even better. Episode 4 stormed the rating barricades delivering 12.985% which is astonishing in the speed of this drama’s hook, line, and sinker. The last big K-drama hit Reborn Rich got to over 11% in episode … Continue reading →
So this week C-actress Yu Shu Xin shared a new photoshoot and debuted a very spring vibe. Her outfitting team is apparently going for a very specific look, that of top Korean idol Jang Won Young and her distinct makeup and dressing vibe. I don’t follow K-pop but everyone has heard of how popular Jang Won Young is and seen … Continue reading →
So we likely won’t see this C-drama until 2025 but I’m hopeful the ample post-production time will deliver a stellar visual product, on top of hoping the script and directing is good. The Legend of Jewelry finished its 5 month shoot this week and the cast led by leads Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning celebrated with a wrap … Continue reading →
So I’ll use the big romance drama hit of the last few years Crash Landing on You for comparison since it’s written by the same screenwriter Park Ji Eun as currently airing tvN drama Queen of Tears. Today’s episode 3 hit 9.594% ratings and Crash didn’t break 9% until episode 6, so this gives a glimpse of the runway to … Continue reading →
