This certainly is a helpful chart (see below) and these will be like 80% of the leading ladies we see in C-dramas in the next 3-5 years in regular rotation. With the remaining the past and still current 4 Flowers like Yang Zi, Yang Mi, Dilraba Dilmarut, Liu Shi Shi, Crystal Liu, and Bai Lu who are even more in … Continue reading →
This is looking like a battle of the acting greats with Lee Sung Min and Song Joong Ki going mano-a-mano in the new teaser for Reborn Rich (The Youngest Son of the Chaebol). jTBC has slipped a bit since that year stretch where it was putting out unexpected strong dramas but remains capable of producing quality fare. Reborn Rich takes … Continue reading →
A C-movie is coming that seems suitable as a remake thanks to some really prime young star casting. The movie is called My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday with the Chinese title Reverse Counting Love You, but the original Japanese movie is called Boku wa Ashita, Kinou no Kimi to Date Suru (Tomorrow’s Me, Went on a Date with Yesterday’s You). The … Continue reading →
The promos are starting early for this upcoming C-drama, which I don’t see airing until next year 2023 and hopefully there is nothing objectionable about the subject matter to get into the crosshairs of SARFT. Nothing But You finished filming already with leads Wu Lei and Zhou Yu Tong doing their version of the older woman-younger man romance set in … Continue reading →
I love bookends and when you live long enough you see it more and more heh. This weekend K-movie 20th Century Girl premiered on Netflix with positive reviews and solid rankings on worldwide and Asian charts. I cared more about the story and acting and the feedback is that Kim Yoo Jung held down the fort as expected but her … Continue reading →
Well this may just get me to start this drama heh. tvN Fri-Sat thriller (procedural, legal, serial killer mystery) Blind has been sailing rather under the radar. It started with 3.385% ratings but has since dropped to the mid-2% range for the majority of its run, with only 4-episodes left to air. Starring Taecyeon, Jung Eun Ji, and Ha Suk … Continue reading →
Well, nobody asked for this but the likely flop is coming anyways. C-ent is making a C-movie remake of classic Hallyu drama Full House, the one everyone loves to hate or hates to love. Or just like me, plain ole hates. Starring Rain and Song Hye Kyo, it’s credit as catapulting those two to rom-com stardom in South Korea and … Continue reading →
It’s kinda funny how timing works, that jTBC is coming out with Reborn Rich but right now MBC has Gold Spoon which probes similar existential issue, what would you do if you were suddenly a rich heir. Gold Spoon makes it a choice for the male lead but Reborn Rich has the male lead get killed and then reborn in … Continue reading →
The Chanel brand has always been beloved in Asia thanks to the classic looks and enduring luxury cache, but in recent years it’s really moved towards younger stars to rep the looks and also get featured in millions of view videos thanks to Jennie of Blackpink. This week W Korea released pictures of an event at the Chanel store in … Continue reading →
The dueling Mama-sans were out leading the red carpet charge at the 2022 Golden Bell Awards in Taipei this weekend, with the TW-drama Light the Night with the most nominations with 11 and leads Ruby Lin and Cheryl Yang taking their onscreen “competition” offscreen with both up for Best Actress. Sadly all of Light the Night was swept out as … Continue reading →
The engagement pictures released by gold medal winning figure skater Kim Yuna and her singer fiancee Go Woo Rim earlier this week now leads to their actual wedding ceremony in Seoul over the weekend. It was a flower and family and friends studded affair that exudes elegant touches and classic appeal. I don’t know why but every time I see … Continue reading →
Oooooh, shirt collision time! It’s been awhile since stars accidentally wore the same thing to an event as stylists and fashion houses are much more careful. Cha Eun Woo and Nam Joo Hyuk had a moment last night at a movie premiere thanks to one very leathery leather jacket. It was hella expensive and clearly the brand made more than … Continue reading →
Wedding pictures for me is like cake, I will never not like cake or say no to cake. Cake is cake, the essence of happiness in a square of softness and frosting with no strings attached. Korean national treasure retired figured skater Kim Yuna and her fiancee Ko Woo Rim of vocal quartet Forestella shared their official engagement photos with … Continue reading →
