The 2022 sageuks are not off to a great start but it’s not a disappointment either. KBS sageuk Red Single Heart (Bloody Heart) with Lee Joon, Jang Hyuk, and Kang Han Na has not been rather low key in airing, starting with 6.3% and staying around there a little up or down. I ended up not watching because it seemed … Continue reading →
This sounds like the one girl and three guys sageuk harem of Sungkyunkwan Scandal but a whole lot less leading star power. SBS is prepping a new youth sageuk called Love Story of Flower Scholars centered around a boarding house in the capital city where scholars come to stay while studying and taking government exams. Shin Ye Eun is the … Continue reading →
Well for once K-netizens are not complaining about something insignificant to the plot and making a very salient point. SBS drama Why Her (Why Oh Soo Jae) has turned into a win for the network quickly within 4 episodes crossing 10% ratings and getting a lot of online chatter especially in this second week. The reason for the success has … Continue reading →
KBS drama Cafe Minamdang continues to surprise me with how fun their promos are. It’s both creative and charming, and if the drama itself turns out to be as good then that’s the way to do a quirky concept right. The new poster has the four leads Seo In Guk, Oh Yeon Seo, Kwak Si Yang, and Kang Mina arranged … Continue reading →

Originally called Tree Dies While Standing and now the title is Curtain Call, last year it was in talks with Son Ye Jin, Kang Ha Neul, and Jung Hae In. I think the Big Mouth v. Big Mouse title confusion has been sorted out. The drama called Big Mouth is scheduled to air on MBC Fri-Sat time slot after Doctor Lawyer and today released the first official drama stills of male lead Lee Jong Seok. He plays the titular Big Mouth, a loquacious lawyer with a low win percentage who … Continue reading →
For those who spent three months with the folks on Jeju Island, it’s time to say goodbye as this weekend Our Blues signed off. The drama ended on its own highest rating ever with 14.597% which places it 7th on the list of highest rated K-dramas on cable network tvN, it’s just below Vincenzo and above 100 Days My Prince. … Continue reading →
So summer is the season of countless outdoor possibilities and K-actress Kim Yoo Jung‘s latest pictorial for Fila can be done both indoor or outdoor. I see it as roller skater girl cute or tennis girl chic, either way she’s still that prime age where energy and vigor is aplenty to tackle more athletic endeavors. It’s midway through 2022 already … Continue reading →
K-actress Lee Ji Ah is going from one type of first lady to another. She’s been offered the titular role in an upcoming tvN drama First Lady directed by the PD of One the Woman, which starred Honey Lee to great reception and won her tons of recognition. The drama is slated for 2023 but will have Lee Ji Ah … Continue reading →
Wow, just wow. Totally did NOT see this coming. SBS Fri-Sat time slot is already resting on a recent successful drama run with Again My Life but now it has another hit and it may be even more successful yet to come. Why Her with Seo Hyun Jin and Hwang In Yeop just hit 10.1% ratings in episode 4, and … Continue reading →
The Eastward venturing of Disney+ isn’t limited to K-dramas as the streaming platform will soon premiere its first produced TW-drama, though not a solo effort as it’s co-produced by Chinese streaming platform Bilibili as well. Starring Bolin Chen and Puff Guo in Small & Mighty (Chinese title Calculation of Justice), the story is about a win at all costs lawyer … Continue reading →
K-actor Junho (Lee Jun Ho) is one of those rare double Baeksang winners in that he won two awards in the same year ceremony.
