This is too funny not to wonder if the K-drama gods were playing a joke and pulling the strings. After Song Seung Heon and Go Ara did the grim reaper police drama Black last year (which I loved!), she went off and got paired with L (Kim Myung Soo) for their upcoming drama Miss Hammurabi. I laughed because Go Ara is … Continue reading →
The timing is probably as good as it gets to dust an shelved movie off and recoup some investment by releasing it. News today revealed that the romance weepy Korean-Chinese collaboration movie After Love with Yoon Eun Hye and Park Shi Hoo, filmed all the way back in 2014, will be released at the end of the month in April … Continue reading →
South Korea sent some of its finest to France for the 2018 Cannes International Series. The tvN drama Mother (Call Me Mother) was nominated along with other international television shows for Best International Series. Mother is the only Asian nominee in the category of ten so this is a high honor indeed. The production team along with leads Lee Bo … Continue reading →
One of the official drama posters for the upcoming KBS drama adaptation of US legal show Suits hilariously made the title read Sluts, but that was a harmless type font fail since the two male leads Park Hyung Sik and Jang Dong Gun were in that poster and one could never accuse them of being sluts ahahaha. Thank god none … Continue reading →
The news with respect to K-actor Kim Bum has been so unexpectedly lately. First was his dating confirmation with actress Oh Yeon Seo a few weeks ago, and now comes news that he’s enlisting at the end of April to complete his mandatory service in the public services bureau. He was exempt from active duty due to not passing his … Continue reading →
The first stills are out for the K-drama adaptation of one of my favorite J-doramas of all time Rich Man, Poor Woman. The K-version is simply called Rich Man, maybe because the Poor Woman part is condescending but without it the whole obvious yet subtly executed dichotomy is less overt. Not to mention the Poor Woman is my favorite character … Continue reading →
C-actress Crystal Liu may have a prolific acting career in terms of movie projects but she hasn’t done a drama in over a decade and her television return will happen later this year with the high profile Records of the Southern Mist House. It’s adapted from a popular manhwa and pairs her up with equally popular C-actor Jing Bo Ran … Continue reading →
There’s currently something about noonas and rain going on at jTBC Fri-Sat but come mid-May all the flirting and slice-of-life romance will give way to stopping killers by sketching out the future three days in advance. Filming has started on thriller K-drama Sketch starring Rain, Lee Dong Gun, and Lee Sun Bin along with veteran actor Jung Jin Young. The … Continue reading →
It’s rather apropos to be reminded that praise one day can be criticism the next, everything should be judged on its solo merits. The upcoming KBS drama adaptation of US legal show Suits released an awesomely stylish teaser drama poster two weeks ago that I loved. Sadly two weeks later it’s also the bearer of two bland as heck official … Continue reading →
I can’t believe there is a potential for a home run casting with the upcoming K-drama adaptation of the 2002 hugely impactful J-dorama A Million Stars Falling From the Sky (Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi and also known as The Smile Has Left Your Eyes). The original starred Kimura Takuya in his prime opposite Fukatsu Eri and tells a … Continue reading →
When news broke shortly before tvN‘s fantasy drama Hwayugi finished airing that Lee Seung Gi was already in talks for another drama, his agency claimed that the offer was received prior to Lee Seung Gi doing Hwayugi and was simply another option on the table. Now it’s confirmed that said drama Vagabond will indeed be Lee Seung Gi’s next drama, and … Continue reading →
This is a fun choice to play a cupid-like drama robot! Yeo Jin Gu has signed on to play the character of Night the mail order boyfriend robot in the upcoming K-drama adaptation of the shoujo manga Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend). He’s the third name attached to the OCN drama Roco King (or Rom-com King) with earlier Song Ji Hyo … Continue reading →
K-actress Hwang Jung Eum is really making a name for herself as the great reuniter. Her upcoming SBS drama Handsome Guy and Jung Eum pairs her up with Namdong Min nearly a decade after they did Can You Hear My Heart, going from second male lead to first male lead. She did the same two years ago with Park Seo … Continue reading →
