Another day another K-drama casting news, these things are flying left and right and I’m having trouble keeping which drama has which leads in discussion straight, especially when the same name gets attached to two projects. Actress Shin Hye Sun has been offered the lead for SBS summer Mon-Tues drama I’m 30 But 17, with Yang Se Jong concurrently offered … Continue reading →
Rain has been noticeably present from the very first teaser of jTBC romance Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food all the way through two of the three drama posters released showing the leads walking under an umbrella. Now the network has made it even part of the title as the official English title of this drama will not be the … Continue reading →
I can’t believe it’s been over thirty years (!!!) since shoujo manga Marmalade Boy came out. It’s actually still readable though the drawing style may seem too quaint for those who prefer the current renderings, this is actually my manga generation so my preferred drawing style that is clean and wholesome. An upcoming J-movie adaptation is headed to the theaters … Continue reading →

The title refers to the greasy or oily aspect of Chinese cooking as the story centers around a Chinese restaurant in a small neighborhood. Jang Hyuk is an ex-con gangster who owns … Continue reading →

The drama will star Jung Kyung Ho, Go Ah Sung, and Park Sung Woong, with the PD from Cruel City (Heartless City) directing. I love a handsome man (of course!) but a handsome man is exponentially more handsome to me when outfitted in a perfectly tailored suit. There is just something so put together and charming in that ensemble, which means I have double the reason to check out the upcoming K-drama adaptation of the US legal show Suits thanks to leading men … Continue reading →
This drama just caught up to me and without realizing it tvN drama My Ahjusshi premiered this Wednesday on March 21st taking over the time slot from Mother. The drama comes with a critically acclaimed production team of the writer of Another Oh Hae Young and the PD of Signal and Misaeng. There were some grumblings most notably one of … Continue reading →
I’m hopeful that SBS drama Switch: Change the World will be the switch up of Jang Geun Seok‘s acting career fore the past 6 years and return him to the substantive track that he was projected earlier on in his career. With Wed-Thurs drama Return getting a two episode (1 night) extension, Switch arrives on March 28th next week to continue the … Continue reading →
What a weird thing to happen with a drama production but its good that it’s happening early on. The screenwriter of Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim was prepping her next drama tentatively titled Fox Star Bride to air in September 2018 and Park Shin Hye was offered the female lead. Now both are up in the air as reportedly she’s switching the drama … Continue reading →
Is anyone watching the variety show All the Butlers (Master in the House)? I asked because with Hwayugi done I’ll soon be hankering for another Lee Seung Gi fix and wonder if this variety is worth my time. It also popped on my radar thanks to the cast being snapped at the airport heading to Vietnam for filming on an … Continue reading →
This seems like one of those rando awards ceremonies but it’s been around now for 12 years so has gained enough legitimacy that plenty of Asian film stars actually attend the Asian Film Awards. Held at the Venetian Sands in Macau, the 2018 ceremony held this weekend brought out mostly Hong Kong stars but from the K-ent contingent actress-idol Yoona … Continue reading →
I’ll continue to rain praises on PD Ahn Pan Seok‘s upcoming take on the noona-dongsaeng romance Pretty Noona Buys Me Food. He’s already done the women older age gap romance with Secret Love Affair but that was more like aunt-nephew not to mention the whole marital infidelity bit. Here it’s just a woman a few years older than a very … Continue reading →
