After spending a year studying abroad in 2016 through 2017, C-actor Hu Ge has been back for some time in China but has eschewed the drama and movie route to pursue a passion on stage. Since late last year he’s been doing theater and laying low vis-a-vis the glitz and glamour of C-ent promotions. I miss seeing him onscreen but … Continue reading →
This is news out of left field in many ways but ultimately happy tidings to share. K-actor Jo Hyun Jae has announced an impending wedding with his non-celebrity fiancee. The ceremony will take place later this month and the couple has been dating for five years. Truth be told Jo Hyun Jae was my first experience with K-dramas watching him … Continue reading →
It’s now statistically proven that legal/procedural and medical themed dramas have dominated the last five years of subject matter on Korean shows. Many still bring in the views as Misty and Return are both leading the pack of currently airing dramas. I’m mostly tuned out now when it comes to these two genre dramas unless the cast hits my sweet spot … Continue reading →
The first teaser is out for the OCN remake of the hit British show Mistresses, and it’s as teaser-ish as can be. It’s a short 15-second glimpse of leading lady Han Ga In, still insanely beautiful as ever, standing in a wheat field next to a car looking rather alarmed and distressed. The woman-centric dramas have proven to be hits … Continue reading →
It’s the first appearance for Suzy in public since last week’s reveal and confirmation that she’s dating fellow actor Lee Dong Wook in real life. She’s dressed perfectly for this mid-March event, evoking the colors of spring with a canary yellow lace A-line dress with a fitted waist paired with pastel purple open toe sandals. Her makeup, though, seems off … Continue reading →
I love that jTBC romance Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food has the frequently used noona-dongsaeng romance troupe from K-dramas but doesn’t feel so obvious or jarring. Perhaps it’s with the perfect casting of leads Son Ye Jin and Jung Hae In, a few years apart in real life enough to make it clear she’s older than him but without … Continue reading →
I haven’t felt the urge to watch a period C-drama in recent months, it just feels like there are too many out there and with many repeat actors and actresses. The one I am looking forward to just released the first trailer and I’m even more stoked to watch Legend of Fuyao airing in late 2018. Starring Yang Mi and … Continue reading →
Take this with a grain of salt, but it’s a juicy grain and totally worth reporting just on the possibility alone. TW-entertainment news publications are all reporting that increasingly loud rumor that top model Lin Chi Ling and her currently on-again boyfriend actor Jerry Yan is going to tie the knot in Bali this March 22nd. Mark your calendar folks … Continue reading →
This is cute news that’s harmless yet potentially filled enough to get shippers excited. J-ent is reporting that Hoshino Gen has moved right down the street from his most famous leading lady costar Aragaki Yui. The two starred in the hit rom-com We Married as a Job (Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu) and since then fans of the … Continue reading →
I know the look Song Hye Kyo‘s coordi was going for in dressing the top actress for her first official solo event since getting married late last year in 2017. She’s pretty in pink but the actual cut, style, and fabric of her pink suit just does not flatter her petite frame. Song Hye Kyo was in Seoul this week … Continue reading →
This is quite a lucky coup for Lee Jong Seok when he agreed to do the 2-episode short drama Death Song (Hymn of Death) last week. He not only gets a solid leading lady in Shin Hye Sun, he gets someone coming off a red hot weekend drama My Golden Life and last month sat on top of the actor … Continue reading →
Oh this casting I like! K-actor Chun Jung Myung has accepted the offer to star opposite confirmed female lead Song Ji Hyo for the upcoming K-drama adaptation of the shoujo manga Zettai Kareshi. The drama is called Roco King and takes the original story characters up in age and into the world of Korean entertainment. Song Ji Hyo is a … Continue reading →
Checking in on Moon Geun Young is a regular part of my K-ent coverage and it’s nice to see new pictures of her and get a new interview to start 2018. She sat down with EBS1 show Time of Being Another and actually broke down crying when reminded of a long ago interview she gave when she was 21 years old. For that … Continue reading →
