Recently premiered MBC Wed-Thurs drama Radiant Office has been less than successful in ratings, and frankly audience feedback hasn’t been positive either. Not sure what’s not working since I’m not watching but I’m definitely keen to usher it off and welcome next drama the sageuk Ruler: Master of the Mask with my baby boy Yoo Seung Ho. The fact that … Continue reading →
Normally I’m not a fan of the amber-hued pictorials since it’s usually done in an edgy way that comes across as pretentious. In the case of this 1st Look photo spread with high school senior and actress Kim Yoo Jung, there’s a throwback melancholy that I love when paired with her recent ups and downs. Kim Yoo Jung reached the … Continue reading →
KBS just premiered its new Wed-Thurs drama Mystery Queen to passable ratings but with the follow up drama being a sageuk it’s getting close to the wire to finalize the cast and start filming. This week came the main cast confirmations for Seven Days Queen with the love triangle leads being Park Min Young toggling two royal brothers in Yeon … Continue reading →
It’s with a sorrowful heart to share the news the veteran grandma/queen level actress Kim Young Ae has passed away today at the age of 65. She’s a senior in age but 65 years old is still much too early for her to pass, and alas her passing was not due to natural causes as she succumbed to her fight … Continue reading →
Spring has sprung and with it the fashion butterflies have been out in force the past two weeks, from the younglings at Marc Jacobs to the A-listers at Salvatore Ferragamo. This week comes the married actress trio all decked out in the colorful and distinct patters of Emilio Pucci, Lee Min Jung goes for a Pucci off-shouldered gypsy skirt look … Continue reading →
Judging from the wide smiles at the table read for upcoming KBS variety drama The Big Hit, this is clearly a story that entertains the talented cast assembled to bring it to life. Nearly two years after the different and ambitious Producer tried out the variety drama melded genre, the network is doing a second go-around with the same format and one … Continue reading →
The Kim Hyun Joong drunk driving arrest from last week is moving forward on legal consequences. His case has been passed from the police department to the prosecutors office for handling, which means the police have sufficient evidence for the case to proceed. That’s no surprise since drunk driving hinges on whether he was in a moving vehicle and whether … Continue reading →
Actresses have to safe guard their reputations even more stringently than their actor counterparts, especially in more conservative South Korea where the ladies are held to a higher standard of personal conduct. Moon Chae Won and her agency have had enough of a K-netizen who for the past year has been posting online that he’s dating Moon Chae Won and … Continue reading →
The long swirling marriage rumors of most likely dating top J-stars Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao has turned into one of those “I’ll see it when I believe it” stories that pop up at least once a year with an update. If these two didn’t fall for each other playing the leads in iconic manga turned J-dorama adaptation of Hana … Continue reading →
The nominations are out for the 53rd annual Baeksang Arts Awards, to be held on May 3rd in Seoul. Leading the pack on the television side of the nominations is last year’s runaway cable drama hit Goblin: The Lonely and Shining God – netting Best Drama, Best Actor for Gong Yoo, Best Actress for Kim Go Eun, Best Screenplay for … Continue reading →
It’s nice to have friends to help out and also serve as a nifty promotional platform. Kim Soo Hyun will be reuniting with singer-actress IU for the third time this month as the male lead in her upcoming MV of the second track off her new solo album. They have been good friends for many years and worked onscreen twice … Continue reading →
The marriage tsunami in TW-entertainment last year had thinned the herd of beautiful single starlets considerably, which means Chen Qiao En is getting pushed to the top of the list right behind Lin Chi Ling now. She seems to not have aged a lick since I saw her in Prince Turns Into Frog back in 2005, the interveneing 12 years … Continue reading →
I’m actually relieved that Lee Jun Ki isn’t doing a rom-com or romance based K-drama as his next project, let’s keep him out of fan shipping cross hairs for the time being. He’s confirmed for the upcoming Korean remake of hit US procedural show Criminal Minds, and so is his leading lady Moon Chae Won. I’ve never envisioned this onscreen … Continue reading →
