For those wondering when the Korean love affair with Kim Soo Hyun will end, the answer is not anytime soon. Kim Soo Hyun and retired champion figure skater Kim Yuna have just been awarded the Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 2015Â National Brand Awards. It’s no surprise a country as patriotic and proud of its culture and heritage would have such … Continue reading →
Wahhhh, things are getting intense fast in Marry Me or Not on all fronts. I wished the drama would reveal what really went down in college between Huan Huan and that asswipe Jiang Qian Yao, because right now I don’t have a good about him other than if he gets between Huan Huan and Justin then he’ll get a good … Continue reading →
With Kang Sora declining 2016 SBS K-drama Hello My Precious, there is fast movement on the leading lady casting front with Oh Yeon Seo reportedly in talks for the role opposite Rain. She’s not an actress I particularly like but she’s one of the rising stars in K-dramas these days thanks to successive well-received dramas Come! Jang Bori and Shine … Continue reading →
ba I feel like lately TW-dramas have hit a nice top of the bell curve in watchability, with a steady stream of shows that range from nicely done to spectacularly awesome. I’m watching two in Taste of Love and Marry Me or Not, an will soon add a third in Be With Me (Chinese title Dance Dance Together). Starring Queen … Continue reading →
TW-superstar idol queen Jolin Tsai totally declared at the 2015 MAMA in Hong Kong that she still PWNS the Cpop music scene even after fifteen years and countless challengers. I’m thrilled for her, having come to appreciate her craft more recently rather than her early years trying to make her mark on idol-dom. After MAMA two weeks ago, she’s remained in Hong … Continue reading →
I like Kang Sora as an actress as well as her visual style, but I wished she wasn’t always styled older than her age. She’s only 25 but I feel like she’s always looking older than her age, and perhaps that’s what suits her since she doesn’t embody the fresh faced girl next door type as much as the cool … Continue reading →
The first time I laid eyes on Kim Woo Bin a few years ago, I thought he was one of the oddest looking Korean entertainers to come around. His hulking frame and strong facial features took awhile to get used to, but once I saw his charisma through his acting then it was easy to get used to his unique looks. … Continue reading →
Rainie Yang isn’t just the cutest pocket-sized idol ever, she’s also now earned her stripes as one of the most loyal and generous of entertainer friends. She surprised good friend Cyndi Wang this at at the press conference for Cyndi’s upcoming 2016 World Tour. That Taichung crowd is still going strong and both Cyndi and Rainie have admitted that they … Continue reading →
Leave it to one of the original Korean solo superstars to stage a comeback concert in Seoul and make me wish I was there. Rain‘s concert this weekend was reportedly energetic and every bit Rain’s give-it-his-all ethos stamped over it. The fact that he looked both cheesy and adorable just makes it that much more Rain, and he looked like … Continue reading →
I think TW-drama Marry Me or Not is one of the best shows I’ve watched all year, from any country. It’s nice to see the drama getting traction both domestically and overseas, and now the show is getting air time in Japan as the two leads jetted over there for a press conference plus fan meeting. Roy Qiu and Alice … Continue reading →
The ranking of fan favorite Korea CF stars are out for 2015 as polled by the Korean Advertising Association, and the one-two spots from last year in 2014 remain unchanged. Come hell or high water, at this point Jeon Ji Hyun and Suzy are the champions of the domestic Korean CF world, not only ranking high in raking in the most money … Continue reading →
China’s propensity to doubly milk a potential hit continues with news coming out of a recent awards show that a highly anticipated adaption will be going for the usual two-fer treatment. Popular C-novel One Smile is Very Alluring (Wei Wei Yi Xiao Hen Qing Cheng) just wrapped filming on the C-drama adaptation starring Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang, with the … Continue reading →
How can Marry Me or Not continue to meld laughter and sizzle in such synchronicity I will never understand, not because it’s impossible but because it’s ever so rare nowadays in dramas. I love when storytelling convincingly showcases layers just like in real life, and in the upcoming episode 7 of Marry Me or Not, the pretend romance attempts to … Continue reading →
