KBS Mon-Tues drama I Remember You (Hello Monster) finished airing last week, a drama I consciously chose to ignore since I don’t like Seo In Guk and only watch Jang Nara dramas if she’s paired up with a leading man I adore. The ratings were low on that one with mixed audience reactions to the plot, which means KBS continued … Continue reading →

I love pretty fashion photographed prettily, and that combination is in full display in photo teasers for the upcoming 5th full length album Lion Heart from top K-pop girl’s group SNSD (Girl’s Generation). This the first full length album release since the girls went from 9 to 8, though in between they’ve dropped various singles. While I’ve liked some of … Continue reading →

There’s casting movement coupled with a major reversal for upcoming MBC Mon-Tues drama Glamorous Temptation. Earlier this week saw the casting of the teen leads Kim Sae Ron and Nam Joo Hyuk, roles that are less the typical child portion length but will be holding down the fort in the first 10 episodes of what is scheduled to be a … Continue reading →
I’m not sure I’ll have the courage the watch upcoming Japanese-Taiwan horror movie The Bride even when it is released on video and I can watch on fast forward. The movie is premiering next week in the muggy days of August during ghost month in Taiwan, armed with scares aplenty along with a side of cinematic sexy. Starring Chris Wu … Continue reading →
I’m wondering if audiences of old school Hallyu dramas will get whiplash if they were to check out Choi Ji Woo is upcoming tvN drama Second Time Twenty Years Old? She was best known for Winter Sonata, Beautiful Days, and Stairway to Heaven, all stupidly plotted addicting melo fests, yet she’s come so far now to break free from her queen … Continue reading →
Taiwan nostalgia high school movie Our Times (The Era of My Teen Girl Days) has finally arrived, premiering this Friday August 13th in domestic theaters in Taiwan. Even though it’ll be months before the movie is available on video, I’m keen to hear what critics and audiences think about the movie, as well as see if it sets the box … Continue reading →
Things just turn a cinematic surreal turn with respect to upcoming romance movie The Third Way of Love, and it has nothing to do with the tabloid topping talk about the newly revealed real life dating relationship of the leads Song Seung Heon and Crystal Liu. Remember what I said about the teaser trailer giving me no clue what the … Continue reading →
If Wed-Thurs drama Yongpal keeps up the momentum with big ratings jumps every even episode, this drama won’t have a problem breaking 20% ratings soon. Of course that’s a big IF considering dramas can reach a ratings peak and stay there for the rest of its run for no discernible reason. But a congrats is still in order for the … Continue reading →
I don’t recall a case where such a high profile celebrity couple confirmed their relationship and then made public appearances so soon thereafter. Timing really is everything, as Song Seung Heon and Crystal Liu went public last week after a C-tabloid published an article outing their relationship, which developed during and after they filmed the C-movie The Third Way of … Continue reading →
Regardless of the varying opinions on rising young actor Nam Joo Hyuk‘s acting talent, or lack thereof, he continues to get prime acting gigs one after another this year.
