Having a drama I’m looking forward to hold a really visually thumbs up press conference is a double treat indeed. The collective pretty on display at the press conference for upcoming SBS drama The Girl Who Sees Smells is the tasty appetizer to whet my hankering for the main course. The production trotted out lead Yoochun, Shin Se Kyung, Yoon Jin … Continue reading →
It look me a long time to fall for Yeon Woo Jin as an actor but once that switch its flipped then it’s here to stay. I was lukewarm towards him early on but sometime after Arang and the Magistrate and When a Man Loves was when I saw something special and charismatic in his brand of loose-limbed aw shucks … Continue reading →
This isn’t exactly a threesome of flower boys I would ever have cooked up for a show together, which could be the recipe for unexpected fun times ahead. SBS has revealed that Jung Il Woo, Lee Hong Ki of F.T. Island, and his fellow label male CNBLUE‘s Jung Yong Hwa will be guests on the still popular variety show Running … Continue reading →
This manga to live-action adaptation feels like it’s fifteen years too late. No, let me amend that to say that it really is fifteen years too late to be adapting a very popular shoujo manga which had its heyday in the 90’s. I’m sure there are still fans who remember it fondly even if the most devout have long since moved … Continue reading →
What’s with so many entertainment products having the eye for talent but not properly maximizing the potential. It’s not just drama or movies wasting actors and actresses by saddling them with abysmal scripts, even CFs lately are coasting on just the pretty without putting much thought in. Is it that hard to make more effort rather than taking fastest route? … Continue reading →
Only someone as charismatic and as good of an actor as Cha Seung Won can seamlessly toggle between such disparate images. On one hand there is Cha Seung Won the A-list actor and still-got-the-strut male model, on the other hand there is Chajumma, the person you want to be stuck on a deserted island (or remote fishing village) with. Cha … Continue reading →
My favorite response to the Lee Min Ho is dating Suzy reaction bonanza has got to be Kim Woo Bin professing his surprise along with the rest of us, and then adding that he won’t be hearing from Min Ho hyung for the time being. I love how Min Ho’s buddy wisely knows when to not bother a dude in love. … Continue reading →
Yoo Seung Ho‘s first sit down interview since he was discharged from the military three months ago is tailor made for a super fangirl like me. KBS Entertainment caught up with him during a photoshoot with Park Shin Hye (I’ll be on that pictorial like cat on cream when it’s released) and the two cuties set down for a giggled … Continue reading →
Watching a talented child actor growing up nicely from age-appropriate roles is a treat for sure, but the real test comes with the first lead role that requires carrying the whole show and seamlessly tradition to being all grown up. Yeo Jin Gu is as ready as it gets with his upcoming KBS drama Orange Marmalade, after having done a few … Continue reading →
There’s a new manga to live-action movie adaptation that hit the big screens in Japan this month. Starring Fukushi Sota and Arimura Kasuma as high school students in a sweet shoujo romance setting, Strobe Edge is the second popular manga by writer Sakisaka Io to get the big screen treatment after Blue Spring Ride (Ao Spring Ride) was turned into a movie … Continue reading →
It’s been a bad last few weeks for the dating star couples in Chinese entertainment. These things typically come in waves, with the dating news bundled up followed later with a spate of breakups. The biggest breakup news lighting up the Chinese language entertainment portals is the purported messy end to the 8-year long relationship of Taiwanese model-actor Ethan Ruan with fellow … Continue reading →
Yoon Eun Hye’s latest pictorial for Vogue Korea is so beautiful I gasped out loud when I saw the full spread. Love this muted soft red hair color on her, paired with the latest spring fashions against a French countryside backdrop, the result is like a visual daydream. Sadly the feeling of delight hasn’t happened in a long time when it … Continue reading →
The first official full scale drama stills are out for upcoming period C-drama God of War Zhao Zhi Long. I’ll go soft on my critique for now and just say that I’m not impressed. I’ll leave it to the angry C-netizens to rip this one apart, seeing as how the general consensus is that it looks chintzy rather than magnificent … Continue reading →
