You’ll hear no complaints from me on the finalized casting of the upcoming Hong sisters drama. The two confirmed leads Yoo Yeon Seok and Kang Sora are both primed for their first major drama leading role, not to mention there is some snerky karma at work that they get paired together after their last second lead roles caused discomfiting ripples … Continue reading →
This is a two-fer bit of news to me though neither aspect surprises me when the entertainment world is all about remakes and crossovers. Park Min Young is experiencing a bona fide career resurgence thanks to her well-received performance in the cult hit Healer. The drama didn’t get sterling ratings when it aired but had quite a vocal online audience. … Continue reading →
I’m probably in the minority with how okay I am with this potential pairing, which just took one step forward in becoming a reality. Lee Jun Ki is confirmed to return to dramas this year with the fantasy sageuk Scholar Who Walks the Night playing the vampire scholar male lead. The drama has been in the works since late 2014 and … Continue reading →
It’s much appreciated for KBS to provide a complete news update on the casting status of upcoming high profile prime time drama Descendants of the Sun. The drama didn’t just confirm the two leads today, it went ahead and confirmed the second leads as well. For many folks this news is both a relief that casting is done as well … Continue reading →
http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae145/ockoala/K-dramas/tgb1.jpg The bar is set so low by the predecessor of The Girl Who Sees Smells (Sensory Couple) that this drama has to only be mildly watchable to be considered off to a good start. Thankfully Smelly Girl is everything I wanted and more, rendering my first impression verdict that this drama isn’t stinky in the least and has a very endearing … Continue reading →
There’s a new face and breakout star in MBC‘s currently airing Wed-Thurs drama Angry Mom, a feat in any situation but all the more impressive happening in a drama chock full of fantastic performances all around. Young actor Ji Soo, who plays high school thug Go Bok Dong, caught my eye in his very first scene in episode 1 and has … Continue reading →
I feel like this is the other shoe dropping, after hearing that Jin Se Yeon was planning a drama comeback sometime this year and then having all these casting issues with dramas since 2015 began. A news report claims Jin Se Yeon is in talks with the KBS production of vampire sageuk Scholar Who Walks the Night. The leading lady was … Continue reading →
Upcoming KBS Friday night new drama Producer made the news with a literal bang by casting a foursome of big name buzzworthy leads. Starring Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Soo Hyun, and IU, the drama is taking over a time slot currently airing a variety show and will be produced by the KBS variety department rather than the drama department. … Continue reading →
This is as big a drama casting confirmation as it gets, but the news coming out on April 1st in Korea does lead one to worry a teensy bit that it’s just a joke. It isn’t a prank news nor is it all that surprising, this drama is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated upcoming K-dramas of … Continue reading →
I wouldn’t call the casting process for upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Who Are You: School 2015 beleaguered exactly, but it certainly wasn’t as slam dunk as one would think considering the School drama franchise has kick-started so many acting careers in the past. The drama is a short month away from its premiere and finally has the leading cast confirmed … Continue reading →
Being a variety regular on Running Man means Lee Kwang Soo meets a lot of famous Korean entertainers that come through the popular show. He’s famous in his own right now but over the years he has made some even more famous besties in the acting industry, two of whom made it out to attend the wedding of Kwang Soo’s … Continue reading →
This casting news is a bit random but also inconsequential enough to get up and arms about the acting talent disparity. Entertainment company CJ E&M is producing a web drama starring Big Bang‘s T.O.P. and Japanese actress Ueno Juri, with the two already gearing up for filming shortly. The drama doesn’t have a title yet but is billed as a … Continue reading →
K-ent has been following along with two big celebrity couple pregnancies in the last few months and both had some updated news this week. The Lee-Lee married couple of Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung welcomed a healthy baby boy on Tuesday morning in a Seoul hospital. The baby was born via C-section and narrowly avoided having an April … Continue reading →
