Now this is what I consider an all-around good looking casting. The first stills are out for the three leads of upcoming KBS Friday night drama Orange Marmalade and I’m liking what I see. Yeo Jin Gu, Seolhyun of AOA and CNBLUE‘s Lee Jong Hyun are shown in character wearing high school uniforms and all look quite convincing, with the former … Continue reading →
This was the best episode of Hyde, Jekyll, Me, and no, I didn’t get blinded by all that kissing. Can’t figure out if another screenwriter wrote it or the original one suddenly got a brain transplant because this episode was pretty darn entertaining and satisfying. Stuff happened, and it actually made sense within the context of this narrative world created! … Continue reading →
I’m probably getting ahead of myself, as I’m wont to do no thanks to this pesky thing called a drama addiction, by being overly optimistic and excited about upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama The Girl Who Sees Smells. But in my defense it’s so easy to like what’s shown so far! It helps that I’m not a big fan of leads Yoochun … Continue reading →
This is good drama casting news for me but I totally get if some viewers are more apprehensive about it. There’s movement on the producing and casting front for upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Who Are You: School 2015. One of the leading lady roles has been offered to Lee Yoo Bi already and is still waiting for her confirmation, with the … Continue reading →
Now this is more like it! After sportswear brand Millet seriously botched the first post-Pinocchio reunion photo spread between Lee Jong Seok and Park Shin Hye, it’s up to InStyle Korea to correctly capture the chemistry and sizzle between the two pretty stars. The magazine flew my two babies to London earlier this month for a photo shoot that is … Continue reading →
I had one of the most “did I just read that right?” double take reactions to the latest casting news, a combination of totally unexpected mixed with serendipitous coincidence that these two particular names would be linked together. The casting world hasn’t stopped buzzing about Ha Ji Won being offered the leading lady role in the K-remake of In Time … Continue reading →
I totally, completely, utterly do not understand Hyde, Jekyll, Me. I don’t understand how devoid of logic and rational common sense it is and still keeps plowing forward down the same path. Flying monkeys could appear in the next episode and would make more sense than the thought process of Jang Ha Na. Seo Jin is no better but at … Continue reading →
However The Girl Who Sees Smells turns out, whether sweet and tasty or rancid and gone bad, for now it gets my thanks for putting a smile on my face. That’s hard to do considering the state my face was in after watching another episode of Smelly Girl’s predecessor drama. It’s still two weeks away before Yoochun and Shin Se Kyung … Continue reading →
The casting and time slot for upcoming KBS high school vampire drama Orange Marmalade feels like an optimistic win-win. Growing up nicely child actor Yeo Jin Gu gets his first drama leading man role that is age appropriate rather than shoving him into adult scenarios while the Friday night low key time slot isn’t too much pressure on him to deliver … Continue reading →
Pairing bummer news with good news doesn’t actually lessen the bummer-ness of the initial bit of disappointment. After getting all excited about Kim Woo Bin‘s return to dramas, and in a leading man role no less, the excitement turned to dismay when news broke today that he’s officially decline the offer to star in the Hong Sisters upcoming drama Feeling … Continue reading →
I’m guessing that Sung Joon‘s part in Hyde, Jekyll, Me is basically done, despite the drama having another four more episodes left his repetitive revenge arc finally limped to a definitive close. Like all things wrong with this drama, his role was written and executed so wacky it must’ve made for some amusing internal reactions from Sung Joon every time … Continue reading →
Tomorrow will be a dueling test of how much Hyde, Jekyll, Me will continue to in infuriate me with what swill passes for plot in that drama versus how much I’ll end up liking the newcomer drama Angry Mom. I loved its predecessor Kill Me Heal Me but that story reached a satisfying conclusion so I’m not sad to see … Continue reading →
Who else gets the feeling that filming the upcoming boys coming-of-age movie Twenty was like going on an extended retreat for leads Kim Woo Bin, Kang Ha Neul, and Junho? Sure they were required to act, but the movie looks like such a riot and their performances have this limber relaxed vibe like they were halfway being themselves in showcasing … Continue reading →
