Lee Jun Ki is one of the best K-actors to follow, he always picks interesting projects and is a delightful sincere presence on social networks with his fans. He’s one of my absolute favorite actors and, unlike some of my other faves who don’t have consistent track records in picking dramas, Jun Ki picks roles and stories that end up … Continue reading →
I might end up eating my words but until then I’ll stick with my first impression that Shin Se Kyung looks super cute in character as The Girl Who Sees Smells. The way her character is styled as an adult reminds me so much of Yoona‘s character Nam Da Jung in Prime Minister and I. Whatever problems that drama devolved into, … Continue reading →
The promotions for Angry Mom have been cute enough, but not so captivating right off the bat that it is guaranteed to hook viewers. I think the premise might bring the audience in since the topic of high school bullying is something that hits close to home. I’m still waiting for the drama posters but in the meantime the drama … Continue reading →
I know Jang Geun Seok has his devoted fans who love the boy whatever he chooses to wear/do/say, but I for one wish that he would soon get tired of this phase he’s been in for the last five years or so and start building back up his serious actor resume. It’s been a rocky last few months for him, … Continue reading →
So long, farewell, see you guys in less than two years time! March 31, 2015 is turning out to be Enlistment Tuesday, so to speak. I already posted about the tears to come for the Cassies as the end of March rolls around and Jaejoong becomes the first of the DBSK five to depart for military service. Jae is not … Continue reading →
This is fantastic drama news for me, and also interesting as yet another sign of the changing tides in K-drama production. Dropping the news on a weekend when there is usually less buzz is no indication of how big this particular project might turn out, based on the screenwriting and PD collaboration talent I would say this one is a … Continue reading →
The third time’s a charm doesn’t apply to marriages quite that way, but it’s less snarky when applied to a third wedding especially if it’s to the same person. Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou completed his globe trotting wedding train to model-actress wife Hannah Quinlivan this past weekend by holding a third wedding banquet in Hannah’s native Australia. The first destination … Continue reading →
There’s been production updates surrounding Kim Eun Sook‘s upcoming drama Descendants of the Sun that are important enough to share. For those interested in either the drama, or because of the discussed potential leads Song Joong Ki or Song Hye Kyo, not sure if the latest leaks are good news or bad. First off, the production is dead set on … Continue reading →
I probably stare at Yoo Seung Ho more than most people so I can tell that he’s matured in the last two years while serving in the military away from the public limelight. Like other child actors and actresses who have grown up before viewers eyes, such as Park Shin Hye and Moon Geun Young, Yoo Seung Ho basically looks … Continue reading →
Now this is casting news I can totally get behind 100%. Upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama School 2015, to take over for the hemorrhaging ratings Blood (this drama is forever so pun-ready), is well underway in casting the large ensemble group of high school students, teachers, and parents. The success of all previous School dramas is of course no guarantee that this … Continue reading →
Spotting Kim Sun Ah these days feels like a finding four leaf clover, rare and elusive for someone who even a few years ago was regularly headlining dramas. I don’t know if the parts have dried up for her now that she’s turning forty this year, or she’s simply being picky and waiting for better roles since the quality of dramas have … Continue reading →
The first big-budget prime time drama of 2015 has wrapped up its run in MBC‘s Kill Me Heal Me, ending on a heartwarming note that was equal parts hopeful and sincere if one doesn’t read too much into all the details. That basically sums up this drama – looks great from a viewing distance, probably a mess up close if … Continue reading →
With MBC starting off promotions for upcoming 50-episode sageuk Splendid Politics (Hwajung) with official filming stills of Cha Seung Won as Gwanghaegun (Prince Gwanghae), it’s pretty clear that his anti-hero leading man will be the lynch pin of this series. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with Cha Seung Won’s leading man charisma and experience, not to mention … Continue reading →
