Kyaaaaaaa! OMG, fanning myself in excitement here and running in circles like my dog when he sees a treat dangling over his head. A total surprise dropped today with the production of upcoming big budget huge cast K-movie Alien releasing the first official stills of three of the leads Kim Woo Bin, Ryu Jun Yeol, and Kim Tae Ri. Gimme a second here, and sorry bae Kim Tae Ri to move you aside for a min, but KIM WOO BIN AND RYU JUN YEOL IN THE SAME FRAME. Did my wish fairy come, cuz if so I’ll leave her more wishes to grant because seeing cool, weird looking super tall talented actor dude v.1 next to cool, weird looking super tall talented actor dude v.2 is a total dream come true. Are they playing brothers? Cousins? Fellow aliens? I don’t care, I need this movie now!!! The movie actually just wrapped filming, and Kim Woo Bin shared a super happy pic with a dog friend on the set recently so awwwww he is back and so healthy looking finally (sniffles). Kim Woo Bin’s three year hiatus from his career while battling cancer is one of those life things that can’t be helped and right before his break Ryu Jun Yeol broke out with Answer Me 1988 and I’ve been picturing these two side by side forever since. Alien will also star So Ji Sub, Yeom Jung Ah, Lee Ha Nee, Jo Woo Jin, Kim Eui Sang, and Yoo Jae Myung (AM reunion!) and is the story about aliens in the present day crossing paths with Taoists in the late Goryeo dynasty who have acquired a mystical sword and a portal opens between the present and past. Time-travel……mystical arts…….and aliens. LOLOLOL I can’t wait. Its from the director and screenwriter of The Thieves, Tazza, and The Big Swindle, and he also directed but didn’t write the script for Assassination and Jeon Woochi.

The comparatively star-less Golden Bell Awards this year reminds me of how many famous Taiwanese actors and actresses from the golden idol drama days of the 2000s are rarely doing television work. One of them is Rainie Yang with her … Continue reading
